Historia
Inspiring, revealing, and deeply relatable, Being a Ballerina is a firsthand look at the realities of life as a professional ballet dancer. Through episodes from her own career, Gavin Larsen describes the forces that drive a person to study dance; the daily balance that dancers navigate between hardship and joy; and the dancer's continual quest to discover who they are as a person and as an artist.

Excellent and accurate description of being a ballet dancer.

If only the narrator knew how to read and took the time to research how to pronounce ballet terms and dare I say English! Otherwise, this is a wonderful and truthful depiction of what it is to be a professional ballet dancer. Poignant and beautiful.

Historia
Death walks alongside me. But the reaper is no match for me. I'm trapped in a world full of monsters dressed as men, and those who aren't as they seem. They won't keep me forever. I no longer recognize the person I've become. And I'm fighting to find my way back to the beast who hunts me in the night. They call me a diamond. But they've only created an angel of death.

Very traumatic.
Revisado: 06-05-23
This was not as good as Haunting Adeline. This book is very dark. I went from a naughty infatuation with Zade to hating him as an abusive rapist. So far fetched and triggering. If you’ve ever had any sexual trauma yourself this is not the book. I wanted Zade to soften with her and be gentle but he just gets worse and worse. What she goes through being trafficked is horrendous and then how Zade behaves with her afterwards is atrocious. I certainly couldn’t go on with him after going through what she went through being trafficked.
