Historia
Iron Rinn, born Ira Ringold, is a Newark roughneck, a radio actor, an idealistic Communist, and an educated ditchdigger turned popular performer. A six-foot, six-inch Abe Lincoln lookalike, he emerges from serving in World War II passionately committed to making the world a better place and instead winds up blacklisted, unemployable, and ruined by a brutal personal secret from which he is perpetually in flight.

Why add the music n the background???
Revisado: 12-22-20
It is a shame that they decided to add music in the background. It is distracting and off putting. I bought this to listen to the story— to Roth’s words and that should be enough. The music was unnecessary and very intrusive and disruptive. I normally doze off while listening to stories/novels and I have been woken up again and the again by the abrupt sound of music in the background. What a spoiler!

The narrator did not do justice to the story
Revisado: 02-28-19
The narrator did not do justice to the story unfortunately. He has a strong and sharp voice that was disconnected from the story. A more experienced narrator would have made a difference. The performance of various characters, especially women’s voices was bad, almost caricatured. This is a beautiful melancholic book that deserves a more sensitive and trained voice.
