Historia
We all want the power and motivation to create change in our lives. But how to get that in a stumbling dance of one step forward and two steps back? Negative emotions run rampant in many people's lives today; a reality that feels like a shrink wrap of suffering. Popular fallback solutions of performance-based goals and tools focus on extrinsic rewards like fame, wealth, or winning. But overuse of those rewards doesn't work for the long term and in fact weakens our confidence and motivation over time, leaving us vulnerable to failure and shame.

Unworthy of a credit or money
Revisado: 12-07-24
Simple, basic and ridiculous suggestions. Full of her personal stories, celebrity examples and one solution, in my opinion, is no solution. The author writes about the part of the brain called the habenula which is supposedly the cause of all of our depression. The one solution she provides in the last 2 chapters is to.. iterate.
In chapter 7, titled "Iterators never fail", she repeats "iterate" over and over, which seemed like a thousand times.
Here are some of her suggestions from this book:
When you try to do something and it fails, iterate. When life gets you down it's time to iterate. Tap into your"try". Fake it till you make it. Outcomes to any behavior change, is your poor efforts, they are controlling you and taking away your power. Anyone, anywhere can stop the motivation kill switch, by using iteration. The next suggestion is simply bizarre.... For people who have addiction problems with alcohol, she suggests... if you can't stop drinking, try drinking club soda with a lemon or lime at your cocktail party. Put dental floss by the sink so you remember to floss. Keep vitamins next to the sink or a water bottle at your desk to build a healthy habit. Take a deep breath, at the light when you're out, to calm your anger. If you're practicing not eating carbs but ate a cookie, all you have to do is reframe it to yourself. Tell yourself... If that was the right practice for me, right now, I wouldn't have forgotten and eaten the cookie. So then you're not a failure.
She writes... In this preiterate sense world, now you know. You have all the power you need. I don't like to write bad reviews, however, this book and her stories was a waste of my precious time and credit. I don't want others to waste their time and money.

I am not convinced!
Revisado: 05-11-24
Everyone is trying to be the New Abraham or the New Seth. It makes me sad because I wanted to believe, it has so many great reviews...And maybe the people actually feel something but I didnt. Why is it so hard? There isnt any proof to the big question, "Why does innocent people suffer... Many say it's an Earth school... but we can learn without 🙄 suffering". I am spiritual and very open to some type of energy which keeps everything in order. I call it the Universe and I search for answers. God, If you want me to believe this story, wake up the dead, like Jesus did.... or move a mountain or perform a miracle. Three Stars because it could true or most likely, could not be true, there is no evidence.

Boring sporadic stories of rich corporations.
Revisado: 04-16-22
I didn't want to hear stories about big Corporations, Apple, Microsoft, Walmart and others. Its not organized by companies, just random and scattered stories. Many stories. No real good instructions on how to find your "Why" or how to phrase it so it motivates you. The entire book is about how wonderful the word WHY is, overly proud of it. He goes on about these big corporations and insinuating, it was the word WHY which caused their success. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't. I suppose hearing stories about corporations & their billions of dollars could be interesting to some people but I wasn't looking for autobiographies or a lecture, I wanted to find a compelling "WHY" in MY life and to learn how to motivate myself for success. I would have been happy with just one chapter of instructions... nope! I was bored to tears.

No, Don't Waste Your Time on This!
Revisado: 04-05-22
The story is nauseating. I could not listen more than a couple of chapters. Only the author knows if it's true or not, however, it is not consistent with everything I have researched in the last 30 years. I've read, listened and watched many books, documentaries and researchers and this book sounds like Hocus Pocus. I've lost many whom I love and five months ago I lost my beloved daughter. My heart aches for her. I hope and believe she is with my Mom and other loved one. Even though I have read many books I was hoping for more details but this book was a waste of time. I will be returning this audible. I suggest looking into Dr. Weiss's books, Dr. Eben Alexander and Anita Moorjani, "Dying To Be Me". I suggest checking out Forever Family Foundation. It's a nonprofit organization, dedicated to AfterLife research. An excellent organization. They have a movie on Netflix "Surviving Death" that is very good. They have grief events, a radio station and much more. I sincerely appreciate other reviewers who have recommended books and authors to check out.
