Historia
Thirteen hundred gates have opened to solar systems around the galaxy. But as humanity builds its interstellar empire in the alien ruins, the mysteries and threats grow deeper. In the dead systems where gates lead to stranger things than alien planets, Elvi Okoye begins a desperate search to discover the nature of a genocide that happened before the first human beings existed and to find weapons to fight a war against forces at the edge of the imaginable. But the price of that knowledge may be higher than she can pay.

Revisado: 12-14-20
I always wonder how a long series can keep up its hold on readers throughout its length, and The Expanse series is a worthy example. Such a great read, and knowing that end is near makes us want more!

Now, Zélie struggles to unite the maji in an Orïsha where the enemy is just as strong and magical as they are. When Amari's mother forms an army of royals with newly awakened powers, Zélie fights to secure Amari's right to the throne and protect the new maji from the monarchy's wrath.

Bonkers of an ending. This is the first novel of Christopher Greyson that I've read and after many twists and turns, you will be surprised at how the book ends.

Wasted Opportunity
Revisado: 11-21-19
The book starts with a promising mystery but flatlines about two hours into the book with nothing but too much regular day drama. The anti-climax was a total bummer for such an amazing story. Though the book feels like moving into a sequel, I am not interested a single bit to read that.

Another great series from Leigh Bardugo. Thoroughly enjoyed every single second of the book. I started Leigh Bardugo with the Six of Crows series. Piggybacked from there to this amazing Grishaverse story. Stoked for the next spinoff "King of Scars"

Historia
End of Watch is a compelling and chilling suspense novel which sees retired detective Bill Hodges back on the trail of his nemesis, Brady Hartsfield, the criminal the press called The Mercedes Killer. Foiled in his attempt to commit a second mass murder, Hartsfield is confined to a hospital brain-injury unit in a seemingly unresponsive state. But all is not what it seems: Brady is able to influence both his physician and the hospital librarian to commit crimes in the outside world.

Not one of the best works of Stephen King. Predictable right from the beginning. Narration was good like the first two books. But storyline fell short of attracting attention right from the beginning. No suspense. No twists.

Sandhya Menon has done a great job of showing how matrimonial arrangements work in the Indian culture around the world. Predictable at times, but still a fine humorous read.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Less fun and more science!
Revisado: 11-19-17
Unlike The Martian, Andy Weir got carried with the second one it seems. A lot of science, to the extent of calling this a science book and not science fiction. Less fun, and most of the time the humour is forced. But the read is enjoyable, not boring but not "edge-of-the-seat read" like the first one.

Good but not that great
Revisado: 07-28-17
If you’ve listened to books by Nicholas Sansbury Smith before, how does this one compare?
I have also read the first book in the series. There was depth in that one. The second book felt more like rushed, or half-baked.
Which character – as performed by Bronson Pinchot – was your favorite?
I liked the male protagonist in the book, Master Sergeant Reed Beckham.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I would love to see it as a movie. In fact listening to the audiobook was amazing that way. I was envisioning scene by scene as I was listening.
