Historia
Rosie Harlow is desperately seeking… well, she’s not sure. A romance would be nice but so would a dinner conversation with her pre-teen son. Too bad her boy is way too busy growing up to pay his mama any attention. Rosie never meant to swear off men and she’s not frigid—you don’t become a single mom at fifteen by being frigid—but this dry spell of hers has gotten out of hand and something must be done.

Dang, they did it again
Revisado: 08-15-24
Let’s be real you’re always nervous when starting a second book in a series when the first book knocked you off your damn feet.
But this one is just as good, the narrators are top-notch, the love story is just beautiful, Rosie is just adorable, and the government is just shady.
I love that get deeper into the subplot of conspiracy theory, but also how seamlessly it moves with the romance story.
And I am positively foaming at the mouth for the next book.
Five stars all around.

Historia
Collin Creed is a killer. But he's Lowyn's killer. And after a twelve-year separation, she wants him back. Deep in the hills of West Virginia, three small towns have found a way to flourish in the face of extreme poverty. Disciple runs a side-show tent revival that brings in millions of dollars a year. Bishop flaunts traditional ways in the vein of Colonial Williamsburg, luring weary city people to the slow-living lifestyle. And Revenant offers them an experience of sin filled with tattooed bikers and live-music dive bars.

This book is phenomenal.
Revisado: 08-13-24
I am not one to leave very many reviews so when I do, it’s either a really really rough book or a book that took me by surprise. This book took me by surprise. I went in blind; I don’t even remember if I read the blurb, the cover, I’m a sucker for a good cover. And then I decided to check out the audiobook sample. And by god if this female narrator voice does not sound like syrup on hot pancakes, I don’t know what does. Her voice, and accent alone made this book.! She could read the dictionary and I would be enthralled. But, to be fair, it is not her voice alone that makes this book what it is, the plot, the story, the characters and the tension, it makes you want to be in the town of disciple. It makes you want to be in the tent and part of the show. Five stars, more if I could.

Historia
The Havoc Boys rule the hellhole we call Prescott High. Once upon a time, they ruled me. For an entire year, I endured their shit. But senior year is going to be different. This year, I own them. I’ve made a pact with the Havoc Boys to get the vengeance I deserve. Their price? Me. At their beck and call, in their beds, a part of their gang.

The male narrator ruined it for me.
Revisado: 06-23-21
The story was good, Brooke Daniels was awesome (per usual), BUT Matt just didn’t hit the mark. He made them sound like Jersey shore gangsters, and Aaron’s voice…..man.. made him sound like a sniveling little bit. I DNF the audible and just read the series. Other than that I liked it the whole series was pretty good.

Book is great narration is dull
Revisado: 02-26-21
The narrator would be great at a non fiction, autobiography, or history story. But for a steamy fantasy book, he’s just to “matter of fact”. The book itself is great, I love Hade’s side of the story more than Persephone’s.
