Historia
This true story was the basis for the Broadway play, The Runner Stumbles, and the movie of the same name. In 1907, a Felician nun disappeared from her rural convent. When her bones were found buried in the dirt-floored basement of the remote, Gothic church she served, it caused a national sensation. Who killed her? The handsome priest? The jealous housekeeper? And, what other secret was uncovered along with her bones?

Story stretched out
Revisado: 04-09-17
Story okay but I struggled to pay attention at times due to the sheer amount of repetition of the facts presented in the story.

Historia
In February 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers in the Russian Ural Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incident—unexplained violent injuries, signs that they cut open and fled the tent without proper clothing or shoes, a strange final photograph taken by one of the hikers, and elevated levels of radiation found on some of their clothes—have led to decades of speculation over what really happened.

Good story; Poor reader
Revisado: 02-19-17
As with any good mystery, the author had me interested in finding out the reason for the tragedy until the very last chapter. However, the presentation was delivered in such a monotonous way as to force me to stay focused despite my interest in knowing what happened to the hikers.

Historia
Using his own experiences, log books, and correspondence with other U-boat crewmen, Hans Goebeler offers rich and personal details about what life was like in the German Navy under Hitler. Since his first and last posting was to U-505, Goebeler's perspective of the crew, commanders, and war patrols paints a vivid and complete portrait unlike any other to come out of the Kriegsmarine. He witnessed it all, from deadly sabotage efforts that almost sunk the boat to the tragic suicide of the only U-boat commander who took his life during World War II.

Two Books
Revisado: 09-25-16
This is almost two books. The first about the Clintons as advertised, but the second about the shortcomings as perceived by the author of The Secret Service and the Air Marshals service. Although there are some new details about the Clinton's presidency in the 1990s, most of the information was information already covered by the news media during the time, just from a different perspective.

The United States military currently views cyberspace as the "fifth domain" of warfare - alongside land, sea, air, and space - and the Department of Defense, National Security Agency, and CIA all field teams of hackers who can - and do - launch computer virus strikes against enemy targets. In fact, as @War shows, US hackers were crucial to our victory in Iraq.

Any additional comments?
This book just may be an accurate indication of things to come. I can very easily see the technology being developed for "our protection" used against us as well and little we can DO about it, even when we know our own privacy is at stake.

Filled with surprising stories of accidental genius and brilliant mistakes - from the French publisher who invented the phonograph before Edison but forgot to include playback, to the Hollywood movie star who helped invent the technology behind Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Any additional comments?
I never really wondered how some discoveries and inventions evolved until I happened to see this book. I'm glad I did. I found it very interesting and well researched. The narrator, however, I was less than impressed with. I found Mr. Newbern's delivery choppy. It sounded a little like he had just picked the book up and started reading it for the first time as he was being recorded for audio format.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
A hard look at just to what extent money has shaped our country's history and influenced other countries. Very eye opening to see much of what has happened from the perspective of money and it's overall power.

In The Genesis Enigma, respected evolutionary biologist Andrew Parker explains each parallel between Genesis and science in detail--and the closer he looks, the more amazing the parallels become. But the Genesis account has no right to be correct. The author or authors could not have known these things happened in this order, and with the highlights science has come to recognize.
