Historia
Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go and all the time in the world to get there. Then, he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now, Reacher wants to make it right. An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

No more Dick Hill. Hallelujah!
Revisado: 11-15-19
It's amazing how much the reader can add or remove from the enjoyment of an audio book. I started with Audible 12 years ago and one of the first books I bought was read by Dick Hill. I vowed never to get another book read by him. I was caught out once as it seems he also went by another last name. Anyway I can finally start listening to Jack Reacher. Very happy.

Historia
Clayton Deese looks like a small-time criminal, muscle for hire when his loan shark boss needs to teach someone a lesson. Now, seven months after a job that went south and landed him in jail, Deese has skipped out on bail, and the US Marshals come looking for him. They don't much care about a low-level guy - it's his boss they want - but Deese might be their best chance to bring down the whole operation. Then, they step onto a dirt trail behind Deese's rural Louisiana cabin and find a jungle full of graves.

Better than the last few
Revisado: 05-27-19
I did enjoy this book. It's a lot better than some of the recent Lucas stories. However no where near as good as the early novels. I've just started listening to "Eyes of Prey" again. It's a masterpiece. Amazing tension and really good character development. Sadly it's obvious that Sandford is now under contract to produce a Lucas every year and his heart has not been in it recently. But I hold hope that Neon Prey is a turning point.

Historia
Laid back, ultra–California cool, the former cop turned PI begins each day with the Dawn Patrol, a close-knit group of surfers, best friends who not only ride waves together but have one another's backs out of the water. It's the life Boone loves, all he wants. To him, "There's no such thing as a bad day at the beach." So when one of their own is murdered - especially an icon like Kelly Kuhio, a local hero - and another surfer, a young punk from the Rockpile Crew, stands accused, the small world of Pacific Beach is rocked to its core.

Loved it!
Revisado: 01-06-19
Firstly the narration is excellent. Yes it not the same person as for Dawn Patrol but so what? Holter Graham effortly switches between Boone's laid back SoCal drawl and Petra's educated female Brit voice. That's talent.
Secondly I loved the humor when dealing with unpleasant topics. Reminded me of Joseph Wambaugh.

Good conclusion
Revisado: 08-16-16
If you enjoyed The Gold Coast then get this and ignore all the negative reviews. I put off getting this book for months based on those reviews but finally decided to give it a try. I'm happy I did. Christian Rummel does an amazing job in bringing the characters to life especially his ability with women's voices.

Historia
Ann Coulter is back, more fearless than ever. In Adios, America she touches the third rail in American politics, attacking the immigration issue head-on and flying in the face of La Raza, the Democrats, a media determined to cover up immigrants' crimes, churches that get paid by the government for their "charity," and greedy Republican businessmen and campaign consultants - all of whom are profiting handsomely from mass immigration that's tearing the country apart.

Tough to finish
Revisado: 07-18-15
This is a hard book to get through, in fact I haven't finished it yet. I found myself being able to only handle 30 minutes at a time. I would get so angry that I had to switch to something more uplifting before I got to work. The stories of child rape that are ignored by the mainstream media due to PC "sensibilities" are particularly infuriating. However this message is important and I commend Ann for her courage in writing it.
My only suggestion is get someone else to read it as Ann's very deadpan delivery doesn't suit such an incendiary topic.

Good narration, weak story
Revisado: 04-18-15
Robert Petkoff's narration is excellent. I wish he did the Jack Reacher series. Unfortunately I found the story weak with some really juvenile dialog.

I loved this book. The fourth in the Hoke Moseley series and it seems to me that Charles Willeford was just getting warmed up with Hoke. I would have loved to see how Hoke did in his new job (no spoilers). Sadly Willeford died soon after and we'll never know.

Loved It!!
Revisado: 11-08-14
I only recently discovered Charles Willeford and sadly there is only one book left as the author died soon after writing it. Yes these books are from the eighties but so what? The stories are rich and remind me so much of early Joseph Wambaugh. The narrator does a good job.

Historia
A major North American hydroelectric dam is blown up and the largest off-shore oil field in this hemisphere is destroyed in a brutal, coordinated terrorist attack. But there was one factor that the terrorists didn't take into account when they struck the Capitana platform off the coast of Colombia—slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform—and that was the Capitana crew chief Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun.

Excellent story, very good narration. Vince Flynn, you will always been missed. Taken too young, you had so much more to say. Ben Coes, you have big shoes to fill, but this book is a very promising start.

Destroyed by narrator
Revisado: 07-24-13
What would have made The Mark better?
To have been read by Richard Ferrone
Would you be willing to try another book from Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins ? Why or why not?
Yes, by a different narrator.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
After following the series as read by Richard Ferrone I was disappointed to fine that he had not narrated "The Mark". So I tried the most recent recording read by Jack Sondericker. What a huge fail. The accents are terrible, a New Zealander sounds Cockney, Zion the Jewish rabbi sounds like a Nazi!! His name is pronounced "see on" instead of Zion. And Carpathia and Fortunado are so over the top as to sound cartoonish. I didn't make it past chapter 3.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment
