Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Great take on Mr. Musk. Good reflection of Walter Isaacson’s world view as well as Elon’s. Very humanizing and there are strong lessons anyone can draw for their life.

Historia
This set includes three talks given by Dr. Hawkins, on Stress, Health, and Spiritual First Aid. Stress results from our point of view, from what we hold in mind, as well as from our attitudes and beliefs. The source of stress is within ourselves and not out in the world. There is no escaping stress in the world, for it is self-created. Relief occurs from understanding its true cause. What is exhilarating to one person is debilitating to another. Dr. Hawkins describes methods of precluding stress rather than trying to alleviate its aftermath.

Create a Safe Context
Revisado: 10-22-20
Dr. Hawkins discusses subtle but profoundly effective steps you can take to overcome stress at any time and in any situation. In the second part he talks about health in general and how consciousness and spirituality effect the health is the physical body. Then in part 3 he lays out a foundation for approaching spiritual endeavor in a safe context, whether one chooses a traditional religious approach, a humanistic or simply spiritual pathway. He also teachers the listener how you can instantaneously determine the level of a spiritual teaching, philosophy or pathway for yourself without being influenced by things like the teacher's name or reputation or number of followers. Dr. Hawkins says in this talk that when he approached spirituality he thought that anything calling itself spiritual would be of the highest level of Truth. In looking into it personally he discovered that things calling themselves "spiritual" can range all the way from teaching hate to expressing love and peace. This talk puts the tools needed to discern the difference in the listener's hands without telling you what to believe. An talk of inestimable value for anyone seriously spiritually committed. Although you probably know all of this stuff intuitively, when Dr. Hawkins says it out loud there are many "aha!" moments of realizing the truth you've always known inside. I love this audio program.

Historia
Letting Go describes a simple and effective means by which to let go of the obstacles to enlightenment and become free of negativity. During the many decades of the author's clinical psychiatric practice, the primary aim was to seek the most effective ways to relieve human suffering in all of its many forms. The inner mechanism of surrender was found to be of great practical benefit and is described in this book.

The Best Book Ever
Revisado: 01-31-19
Yeah this book was pretty good. I mean it was all right. Actually it's probably the best book I've ever read.
This book seems to be about a simple technique to let go of anything that is causing me to suffer. I get to use this technique everyday to deal with life's difficulties and to grow emotionally & spiritually from them instead of avoiding the feelings. This book has shown me a very simple and easy practice that is very subtle and powerful.
Because the method is so simple and practical it never conflicted with any other practice or belief that I have. There is practically nothing in this book about how one should live one's life. In fact there is virtually no advice whatsoever in this book. There is just a simple mechanism that one can use to let go of all the obstacles to higher levels of happiness, success, peace, prosperity and oneness and a lot of examples of how people practice the technique.
Because the book doesn't offer any advice it leaves me as a reader totally free to implement the basic teaching of letting go in my own life and to observe the results for myself, which has been beyond belief!
Letting go is probably the most natural thing I've ever learned. It's like learning how to breathe, or how to have a heartbeat. Once I read it I realized that I've been letting go all along, and now have learned how to do it at will and consciously.
This review was written using the mechanism of surrender as outlined in the book. Thanks for taking the time to read it! Cheers.

Enhanced Understanding of Reality
Revisado: 06-20-18
This does not really seem like a book for people who have everything figured out. What this book did for me was continue to undo beliefs I have about the World by adding verifiable facts and confronting what seemed like painful realities. When those so-called painful realities are confronted by truth and fact empirically by an author such as Thomas Sowell there is a soothing balm and an undoing of unnecessary narcissistically self-indulgent blame and guilt, a freeing of my mind to look forward toward solutions rather than backwards toward problems. But with a better understanding of conditions necessary to advance the quality of living on this Earth.

Historia
Behind most major political stories in the modern era, there is an agenda - an effort by opposition researchers, spin doctors, and outside interests to destroy an idea or a person. The tactic they use is the Smear. Every day, Americans are influenced by the Smear without knowing it. Paid forces cleverly shape virtually every image you cross. Maybe you read that Donald Trump is a racist misogynist or saw someone on the news mocking the Bernie Sanders campaign. The trick of the Smear is that it is often based on some shred of truth.

OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!
Revisado: 07-28-17
Any additional comments?
This book makes me so happy! I thought I was going crazy before I read it. Then I started believing the smear merchants on the "other side" of the aisle. The Smear, by Sharyl Attkisson, puts my heart at ease. It has opened my heart by opening my eyes to the brainwashing that goes on for all of us, whether we consider ourselves to be on the right or the left and is THE obstacle to a free society, social harmony and mutual understanding.
In the audio book version, Sharyl does a great job reading. You can feel her integrity and concern for all involved parties in the way she reads. This truly is a rarefied work on the level of excellence that does not seem to seek condemnation but rather understanding.
A wise man once said that falsehood needs not be opposed, only exposed. The truth has a way of dissolving fallacy by its' own merit and power. It is my hope that this book launches a new era of civility in which the destructive effects of now obvious media smear campaigns are mitigated by enhanced sophistication, discernment, understanding and compassion. In order to choose the good we must first unmask and identify the not-so-good. This book does an excellent job of doing that.
Shame is cruel and abusive. Smearing is a form of oppression. By the very nature of a smear, the victim instantly becomes a minority in the smallest and most oppressed group in America - the victims of public shaming. The ends do not justify the means, because we live in a world of means.
My compassion and prayers go out to all those who have been smeared as well as the ones doing the smearing. I would NEVER want the karma of what they are doing.

Did you know that as human beings relate to one another we all experience different realities? We view the world through our interpretations of reality based on our level of consciousness. Hear Dr. Hawkins explain this incredible phenomenon: Our reality is a subjective mental presumption! We think we are our thoughts and feelings, but do they constitute "me"? Is the "me" real? If not, then what IS real? Dr. Hawkins exclaims: "What a wild and wonderful journey it is to move from one paradigm to another to Enlightenment!" Hear more on this fascinating subject that leads us from the linear to the non-linear realms of our true self.
