Historia
Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the sultan. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways. Both Zafira and Nasir are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya - but neither wants to be.

Out of Place & Unusual Character Interactions.
Revisado: 11-29-23
The performance was well read. Writing style is eloquent. But, proper world building and interactions between characters that made sense was not present. I was 75 chapters deep into the book before having the slightest understanding of the book’s goal. Interactions are very wild and nonsensical. It is missing a natural cadence that flows easily. Everything from the characters to the plot felt forced and not in a good way. I’m not sure if I will read the 2nd book. I assuredly will not read it next.

Beautifully Written & Read
Revisado: 11-28-23
Tahir craftily creates a world and its people. Characters and their stories are real and relatable. The storyline is fresh and intriguing. The audible presentation of this series creates a 5-star trifecta! Very well done.

Enigmatic, but intriguing
Revisado: 07-27-21
Ultimately, the “why” behind this story is unclear. There are repetitive & cryptic elements in the book that are not climactic, but rather confusing. The heavy usage of world building specific information without explanation to the reader is distracting. It throws off the natural ebb and flow of understanding. But, with that being said, there’s still enough juicy qualities to this story to captivate and intrigue. To boot, Fiona Hardingham’s voice and performance is bewitching! I will listen to the sequels…I anticipate a clearer picture to form and come full circle.

Disappointed
Revisado: 09-18-16
The storyline was alright, but much was lacking. The language use and conversations were forced and unnatural. It sounded more like a middle schooler who was thesaurus happy than a best selling author's work. I expected better.

Fantastic Series
Revisado: 04-30-16
What a great sequel to book 3 and set up to book 5. Frozen Tides is the most emotionally satisfying of the series. Every book in a standout series should deliver a sense of purpose & closure to the reader while expanding upon the plot & mystery for future books. Rhodes is very effective in this & in wielding an intriguing & complicated storyline in her Falling Kingdom series. Fred Burman delivers the most fantastic audio-visual performance that truly gives life to the characters & emotional connection to the reader. Both author & narrator are on my top 10 list.
