Good Story - Terrible Audio
Revisado: 01-25-25
While the story was very interesting, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it myself. The audio was utterly terrible and amateurish. I have listened to well over 200 audible books and have never heard more terrible audio. It was read by the author (which is usually a plus) but it sounded like she was speaking into a tin can. However, if you can get through the audio issues, the story is very interesting.

An expansive, substantive history of the Wesleyan tradition in the United States, Doctrine, Spirit, and Discipline offers a broad survey of the Methodist movement as it developed and spread throughout America, from the colonial era to the present day. It also provides an theological appraisal of these developments in light of John Wesley's foundational vision. The Best Book on Wesleyan History
Revisado: 07-07-24
This book was simply amazing.
It is well written, very concise and yet easy to follow. Not overly academic (like condensed histories can sometimes be). It covers the entire history of the Wesleyan movement from its inception (1730’s) to current.
Kevin Watson has a way of writing that it both informative and yet easy read.
I highly recommend reading any of his books!

Historia
As Adolf Hitler and the Nazis seduced a nation, bullied a continent, and attempted to exterminate the Jews of Europe, a small number of dissidents and saboteurs worked to dismantle the Third Reich from the inside. One of these was Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a pastor and author. In this New York Times bestselling biography, Eric Metaxas takes both strands of Bonhoeffer's life—the theologian and the spy—and draws them together to tell a searing story of incredible moral courage in the face of monstrous evil.

Historia
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

This is one of the most amazing books I’ve ever listened to. The parallels between today and 1930’s Germany are unbelievably similar.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Pornography
Revisado: 08-30-17
I have read or listened to all of Ken Follett's books and I think he is an exceptional writer.
However, I get really sick of all the graphic sex scenes he sprinkles so heavily through every one of his books. It's seriously like reading some sort of pornographic book. He get's extremely graphic in a lot of areas.
The stories would be much better if he wasn't such a perverted writer.
