It was a day like any other when suddenly the world changed. The universe reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A place where power is the only thing anyone can truly rely on.

Good book!
Revisado: 04-04-25
The reason I dropped the rating is because there was rarely a sense of danger for the main character.
There were more near the beginning but less in the second half.
The final fight of the book a lot of the danger or risk was just non-existent. I felt like the main character was safe through the entire fight.

Disappointing - It's okay to skip
Revisado: 09-10-24
There were some cool elements to this book series. Unfortunately, they were weighed down by mediocre writing. I don't say this to be mean, I truly hope the writer can upgrade their skills to the next level so the next book is interesting to listen to.
With this book it was hard to care for any of the characters. The author is currently using a, tell don't show, philosophy which makes the book feel like everything is happening in past tense. It gives the reader the feeling that there isn't really any danger.
There were no meaningful consequences at any time in the book. Let me explain under spoilers.
*May have Spoilers*
The closest that we got to consequences in this book was time skipping. Except that the time skipping had no meaningful impact on the main character. Or any of the other characters. It could have been something serious and painful to the characters but much like the book itself they simply meandered through the changes.
There were a lot of plot points that made no sense and didn't fit with the main character's personality or values.
Why in the world would the "avatar of love" take away the decision to be in the world from his family? New races spring up out of no where but Artorian's family have to stay in stasis. Hundreds of years pass and Artorian has no trouble robbing them of those years. He makes all of the decisions for them and I'm sure when they wake they won't care. Because his judgement is perfect.
The other main point of contention is that the author does not show, he simply tells you how the characters are feeling. It creates a boring book with minimal stakes. "Artorian felt sad" could be replaced with showing us that he feels sad with his actions. Doing something bad or silly with ACTUAL consequences. But it so rarely happened in the 39 hours I listened to this book that the book itself was boring. I think the dark elves were one of the few parts where we felt anything and it was barely.
I was seriously disappointed and hope that in the future, you work on showing more and telling less. Use other characters to tell him he's acting a certain way and have them be wrong sometimes.
Also, the side characters were clearly only here to drive the plot forward. They barely had motivations of their own.
For the author
I recommend studying Pirate Aba to learn how to create compelling side characters. She will get you invested in those characters and caring about them. Watch how she shows and what she tells. I think your writing would benefit so much.
Thank you for writing the book and I hope the next ones are better!

Historia
After the old gods warred and drove themselves to extinction, the cataclysm of their fall shattered the land of Vigrio. Now, power-hungry jarls carve out petty kingdoms, and monsters stalk the shadow-haunted woods and mountains. A world where the bones of the dead gods still hold great power, promising fame, and fortune for those brave - or desperate - enough to seek them out. As whispers of war echo over the plains and across the fjords, fate follows the footsteps of three people. All three will shape the fate of the world, as it once more teeters on the edge of chaos.

I really enjoyed this book. I like that it's not easy to see how much fantasy is actually in this book. There's a lot, quite enjoyable.

1 dimensional characters
Revisado: 07-07-22
I really enjoyed the first book but upon re-reading, it has a lot of the same flaws.
The characters all feel the same with a few exceptions. Too much time is spent on characters who have no purpose, no real story, and no reason for us to care about them.
It's rough, the world is interesting. The characters lack depth. All the good characters feel the same, all the bad characters feel the same and the decisions they make are either unbelievable or completely predictable.

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Overall good - Too many sound effects
Revisado: 08-22-21
Overall I enjoyed the story however I found the constant sound effects to be a bit distracting. It's okay to have this level of sound effects in a TV show because you can watch it visually. In this case the sound effects actually made it hard to hear some of the characters dialogue and so there were many times I needed to rewind to figure out what someone said.
Still it was overall good, just maybe lessen the number of sound effects or adjust the volume so that they don't overwhelm the story.

In the highly anticipated finale to the New York Times best-selling trilogy, dictators, prophets, and tensions rise. In a world that’s conquered death, will humanity finally be torn asunder by the immortal beings it created? Citra and Rowan have disappeared. Endura is gone. It seems like nothing stands between Scythe Goddard and absolute dominion over the world scythedom. With the silence of the Thunderhead and the reverberations of the Great Resonance still shaking the earth to its core, the question remains: Is there anyone left who can stop him?

A weak finish for such a strong start
Revisado: 04-03-21
I have to say, I am pretty disappointed. The last two books basically ignored Rowan and had little to do with Anastasia. The ending was fairly anti climatic and I wish the story would have done more.
