I absolutely love this podcast. The only downside is that it isn’t ongoing. If you love absurdity, witty banter, and ridiculous sci-fi, this is for you. It has occasional moderate language, but it doesn’t detract from the story.

Historia
Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper, so the other houseguests decided to play a practical joke on him. Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6:30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank then backfired, with tragic consequences. For Jimmy Thesiger in particular, the words "Seven Dials" were to take on a new and chilling significance....

Fun story, poor narration
Revisado: 11-20-24
The story is fun and not terribly complicated. However, the narrator doesn’t suit at all. Everyone sounds like a Scooby Doo character.

Extremely fun (with some profanity)
Revisado: 04-12-23
I love this podcast so much that I have listened to it 3 times. The third time was with my mom, which is when I noticed the volume of profanity laced throughout. It always happens that way. Anyway, this is incredibly funny, delightfully sarcastic, and so over the top that the absurdity keeps getting funnier. I don’t think anyone would feel singled out as a stereotype because every character (every. single. one.) is a stereotype magnified about 80x. From the intrepid vlogger to the brainwashed cultist who enjoys roadkill stew, to the room, formerly “the shimmery”, at the country inn, you will be laughing at the hilarious characterizations. Enjoy!!!

An Incredible and insightful “Must Listen”
Revisado: 04-12-23
This is an amazing sci-fi podcast drama for those who prefer more of the “sci” than the “fi”. No aliens or extreme futuristic setting. Set mildly in the future, extreme climate change and a worldwide pandemic are the catalysts that push science forward and send people into space to reach a new planet. The character development is well-thought out and the problems each character faces are logical and realistic, including real ethical dilemmas. It also has a great air of mystery and “what if” woven in. I also really got swept up in the mental images created through such careful word smithing and acting. This is a must for any sci-fi lover.

Historia
It's Spring 2142 (a Tuesday), and Gated Galaxies has launched its 400 Oz-8000 ships, each carrying 50,000 "resting guests" to, hopefully, a new home on a shiny, brand-new planet. Except this whole "terraform and take over" idea isn't actually the plan; the real plan is far more nefarious and involves a great deal of cackling. But those aboard the ships don't know that, so off they toodle (those that make it out of Earth's atmosphere, at least), all shiny and optimistic. This is the story of one of those ships – the Oz 9 – and its tiny crew of hopeless incompetents. So far, they've been in ...

This podcast is incredibly funny, with fantastic wordplay and ridiculous characters. The names of the foods alone are incredibly clever. Add in the utterly inept crew, throw in some Donna, and you have a gem of a podcast. Once I got caught up on the seasons, I immediately started it over because it is so funny!!! As Madeleine would say, anyone who doesn’t enjoy this is “benign.”

Sam archives space. Yep. It's pretty boring... until she finds an alien-bat-thing hiding inside her robot companion. How will she keep the cute, and definitely not terrifying, creature safe from the very corporation that employs her? After all, she's just an archivist. Don't worry, everything will be fine... Stick with it!
Revisado: 04-02-23
I came across the podcast in a crossover episode with another podcast. I enjoyed that enough to start this one. It has a slow start, but stick with it. It’s light and interesting with a delightfully flawed protagonist. The space archivist runs into some interesting problems and finds herself tasked with an impossible job.

The flu pandemic of 1918 took millions of souls within a few short weeks. Except it wasn't flu, and death gave them back. Seventeen-year-old Ella copes the best she can by caring for her war-injured father, scrubbing the floors, and slaying the undead that attack the locals. Like rats, these vermin spread pestilence with every bite. Ella's world collides with another when she nearly decapitates a handsome stranger - one who is very much alive.

Skipped almost all of it to avoid gagging
Revisado: 10-19-22
While I didn’t expect great literature, I wasn’t prepared for my gag reflex to be put to work over and over again. The swooning and idiocy of the “heroine” combined with the “hero” making speeches no man would ever say mingled with the descriptions of their kissing had me shuddering in revulsion. While meant for a younger audience, it utterly reinforces unrealistic expectations for both sexes, and presents a dangerous view of relationships in general that no young person should be exposed to, let alone be shown in a positive light. Girl lies to boy to be someone different because he’s hot? Check. Boy basically stalks girl because she is pretty? Check. Girl had a killer body? Check. Boy proposes marriage because, well, she’s pretty? Check. Abuser is killed in the end? Sort of. Narrator makes it a billion times worse with overly dramatic everything? Double check.

Whiny and melodramatic
Revisado: 01-05-21
After bearing so much about this book, I was very disappointed. The women were all whiny, blubbering twits, except Effie. The men were all sociopaths with extreme tendencies for violence. The reader made it ten times worse. Skip it. Skip it altogether.

Historia
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

It’s a narcissist’s internal monologue
Revisado: 09-10-20
It started off alright. And then the Edward internal monologue happened with bloated explanations and analogies. I think these books as a guilty pleasure, but this one, ugh! I couldn’t even finish it. I have 30 minutes left and I can’t bring myself to finish the book. This new Edward is so unlikable, so unsympathetic, so narcissistic. Not narcissistic in that he thinks he is so great, but that the character believes everything revolves around him. He makes Bella look like a rational person. Enjoy the originals. Skip this one.

Charming, but narrator ruins it
Revisado: 01-11-20
I read this book previously and enjoyed the story. The narrator for the audiobook, however, ruins it. Over the top dramatics and speaking as though she forces all the air out on the last syllable of every sentence every time makes the book very hard to listen to.
