Historia
What’s a witch to do when the coven of moral and ethical standards demands she untwist a curse—but an essential spell component no longer exists? There’s only one choice: go back in time. Caught between self-exile and an Alcatraz cell, Rachel must find an Atlantean mirror to reverse the curse and prove to Cincinnati’s brand-new witch coven that, no, she does not practice illicit magic. Unfortunately, the only mirror of its kind in existence belonged to the insane demon Newt, forcing Rachel to go to the past to bargain with her for it.

OH MY NEWT
Revisado: 11-20-24
This was absolutely, hands down, one thousand percent the best book in the series. If you read it alone, you wouldn't understand. But having traveled though so many years and stories and so much growth with Rachel... This is the best book by far. A mature Rachel traveling incognito ish with a young version of herself and hitting all the greatest hits of some previous books? literally can't get better. I loved this.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Historia
Petra Grady has known since adolescence that she has no talent for magic—and that’s never going to change. But as a sweeper first-class, she’s parlayed her rare ability to handle dross—the damaging, magical waste generated by her more talented kin’s spellwork—into a decent life working at the mages’ university. Except Grady’s relatively predictable life is about to be upended.

Historia
Dr. Renee Caisson knows there are worse things than an attractive man in uniform drafting her into a secret government project—especially when Major Jackson makes it clear that he isn’t bothered by her questionable past. But when her labs come back with decidedly odd results, the Major is forced to come clean over who the government is actually studying. Renee is shocked to learn her subjects are demonic-looking beings who call themselves “Neighbors”—refugees from a dying world, who arrived during the nation-wide solar eclipse.

Revisado: 07-24-24
This story so so exciting and I love this new series so much already but this reader is AWFUL. I am so sorry but this is a mistake that has to be fixed. why is every single character an ancient granny?? and the low humming and weird vocal fry on everyone makes it impossible to follow along. this narrator is going to tank the series. change to somebody, anybody else, please.

Historia
Dr. Renee Caisson never expected that her scientific expertise would lead to a role playing interpreter between humans and the demonic-looking Neighbors. When the door between their worlds opened, she was drafted by the government to study the otherworldly beings and was able to prove her theory: the Neighbors had been to Earth before—and now they simply wanted to save their dying planet.

OMG YES
Revisado: 07-24-24
I am so excited for this series. I need more. the concept is so fun and the story is fantastic. Kim hit it out of the park.
However, I can't listen to this narrator much longer. She sounds like she is about to cry all the time and quite frankly it causes me a lot of anxiety to listen. everyone is old and quavery and it's too hard to hear most of the time. I have the sound on my phone all the way up because it's too low and humming all the time.

Historia
As time has passed, Dr. Renee Caisson has begun to see the demonic, alien August as more than a research subject or an unlikely colleague—they’ve become friends. And together, she and August have helped the two societies of Nextdoor and Earth through the confusion of first contact, the danger of misunderstandings, and the anger of mistreatment. But when a popular blogger and conspiracy theorist twists August’s words, an uproar ensues, turning a powerful section of human society against the Neighbors—and resulting in Renee’s house arrest.

I LOVE THIS STORY I hate the readers voice
Revisado: 07-24-24
I have been a Kim Harrison fan for years. I was nervous about this new series but I need, like, a hundred more, immediately. The narrator though, is a bad fit. Everyone sounds like old raspy grannies....everyone. it is difficult to understand and wayy too low all the time. I was thrown out of the story all the time because it felt so wrong for the characters. Too much rasp, too wavery and shakey like she is about to cry all the time. I won't be getting more audiobooks if it's done by the same narrator, it's just too hard to understand and stay in the story. it's a great story that needs a corresponding voice.

Historia
When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed. Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

ick...
Revisado: 02-09-24
Ok so pestilence rides around North America killing everyone in a really disgusting manner: the plague. expected. he breaks into homes and forces the people to look after him and his random girl toy. unexpected, and it's... it's icky. I think we are supposed to feel sorry for him. I can't. it's just messed up and feels really religiously traumatizing to watch these people be forced to take care of them as he kills the families , full on families, and some even fawn over him. it's... very serial killer documentary weird. I thought she would change him yada yada yada.. maybe she does but it's halfway through the book and they just keep doing this. I can't finish. if you are looking for toxic religion fan fic this would be right up your alley but I can't. it all seems to be pointing to her supporting him and he continues killing indiscriminately, even children, and then they make out. 🤷🏻 not my cup of tea. like, sorry, I can't listen to babies dying of plague and then not be picked out by making out. nope.

it was good to listen to
Revisado: 03-02-23
The writing is good, the narration is stellar, the only complaint I have is the first three stories are the exact same story told with different names. the fourth one is awesome and has a lot more incentive to get into the story. it feels like there is a real hook and story. the other three are the same three meet cutes and their accompanying smex scenes.

Historia
I've been living in a small town working for the vampires for the last six months. All I want is to save up enough to open an apothecary so I don't have to heal the neckers anymore. Of course, nothing in my life can be that simple. Two detectives show up at my door asking questions about a dead girl and trying to pin the murder on my employer. Next thing I know, I'm dodging fireballs in parking lots.

Revisado: 01-03-23
the narrator was oddly accented at times and it threw me off but overall I enjoyed it and the story was good. the use of a paintball gun was a blatant tip of the hat to Kim Harrison which was cool. 10/10 would recommend.

Historia
Iris concocts the perfect curse for Pike: one that will turn him into a witch. But just as she’s about to dispel it, a bird swoops down and steals the curse before flying away. If the bird dies, the curse will be unleashed—and the bird is a powerful amplifier, and unleashing the curse would turn not just Pike, but everyone in the region, into a witch. New witches have no idea how to control their magic and the consequences would be dire.

cute
Revisado: 11-22-22
it was a cute story, I felt like the ending was a nice one, but, it was a little too nice and on the nose. everyone got what they wanted, there were no repercussions and it was kind of perfect. a good story gets messy and has room for following stories. but overall a nice one.
