Good, but drawn out
Revisado: 11-25-22
I wanted to love this book but it kept wandering. I fear the goal may be to draw out a succinct story. Not every hero needs 7 to 10 volumes. The ones who do this best reach a major goal in each volume. This book was lacking that. I will give the second volume a chance because I do like the characters--and I absolutely adore the work of the narrator.

Revisado: 11-14-21
Will Wight's work read by Travis Baldree is sublime. I am not one to reread or re-listen to a book, let alone a series, this has truly captured my heart ♥

So Good
Revisado: 03-25-21
I first found Juliet Marillier through the Blackthorn and Grim series. I loved those books. I then started the Sevenwaters series and only listened to 4 of those books. When I saw the books with Blackthorn and Grim's children I had to purchase and listen. The Harp of Kings was good, but A Dance with Fate is sooooo good. The story and the narration is great... although the way Brocc's chapters are read are are a little annoying, but not so much that it didn't detract from how great this story is or the overall performance.

All around, very well done
Revisado: 03-01-19
I found the story very entertaining, creative, fun and smart. I also enjoyed the animated voice of the narrator. If you enjoy the magical and fantastical, this is worth your time.

I have been enjoying the series very much. Starting the next book now, pleased that I found this work at a time when the 5th book is available on Audible. The series has everything,--mystery, adventure, risk, and romance. I will be sad when it ends.

A little simple but very sweet. I'm willing to listen to more from this author to see how some of the seeds planted in this story grow.

Never Disappointed
Revisado: 08-26-16
This is the first time I've listened to these authors vs reading and I was not disappointed. Dubner has the perfect voice and keeps the hidden side of everything as interesting and thought provoking as ever. Maybe I'm just easily pleased but if this isn't a book that gets you thinking, at all, let alone like a freak, I would be curious why and what data you have to back it up.
