Historia
One moment June Nealon was happily looking forward to years full of laughter and adventure with her family, and the next she was staring into a future that was as empty as her heart. Now her life is a waiting game. Waiting for time to heal her wounds, waiting for justice. In short, waiting for a miracle to happen. For Shay Bourne, life holds no more surprises. The world has given him nothing, and he has nothing to offer the world. In a heartbeat, though, something happens that changes everything for him.

A human heart
Revisado: 05-12-18
This story is hard to describe because it is so full... of life, of humanity, of ‘heart’. Life is beautiful and ugly and simple and complicated; perspective all depends on which details you have and which you choose to focus on. All of that is in this book.
I have always been amazed by the capacity of a human heart...and here, of Jodi Picoult’s capacity to write something like this. As a book, it’s a keeper, one that should be passed around until it falls to pieces. It broke me apart and put me back together again.

Messy and complicated and beautiful and...
Revisado: 01-17-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Because everyone we meet is fighting a hard battle and we need to be reminded that life is not fair, but often surprises us.
If you could take any character from The Sound of Glass out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Edith. People are fascinating and courage knows no generation, age or locale. We can learn so much from each other.
Any additional comments?
The World is complicated and this book honors that. The story is messy and complicated and beautiful and happy and sad, just like real life.

You will laugh out loud many times at what the old man says. You will fall in love with the characters, their humanity, the hits and misses we all make in life. Imaginative and yet grounded in hard reality.
