This is one of my favorite Georgette Heyer books. I've read it dozens of times over my life, and I thought that the narration here was very well done. She has a little trouble with the men's voices (they're not quite deep enough... most of them sound like lyric tenors, lol) but the characterizations were wonderful. Highly recommend!!

A wonderful end to the series

This series has been (and will continue to be) one of my favorites since I discovered it years ago. I've waited impatiently for each one, and have never been disappointed when they arrived. I'm sad that we've come to the last of Jane's adventures. With The Final Mystery, Stephanie Barron has given us a fitting end to Jane's story, but I know I'll be rereading this series for years to come.

It took me a while to get going on this because I was so disappointed that it wasn't Devina Porter narrating, but once I got going, it was actually really good and I thought the narrator did an excellent job. The story was phenomenal as usual, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

This is one of my favorite series, so to find that 16 books in, they've changed the narrator to somebody else was so disappointing. This narrator does not have the range of voices that Davina Porter has. and her Sebastian sounds like an old man. The story wasn't one of the best, but could have been made better by a more skilled narrator. Bring Davina back!

Good story, but.....

The story was enjoyable, however the narrator almost ruined it. In addition to having almost no emotion, the upward lilt at the end of every word makes it sound like she's not sure about what she's saying because it's all questions. She also pauses in weird places, and all her male characters sound the same (and much too feminine!) Anyway, it just didn't work. I'm debating whether to continue with the series or not.

Good story, but....

I liked the story and would be looking forward to the next one, except the narrator is terrible. I can't put myself through that again.

Not quite as strong a story as some of the others in the series, but still really good, and I was able to forget that it wasn't finished by Ariana herself.

Not only is this one of my favorite Heyer novels, but the narrator was superb! The language has a sort of rhythm to it, and she nailed it perfectly, in addition to having good comic timing. The various voices for the characters were distinct & appropriate. Some have said the main characters voice was too mature, but I thought it was just right. I'll be keeping this to listen to again!

I'd never read this before, and even having seen innumerable movies, wasn't sure what to expect. The story is gripping( if a little drawn out in places), and Dan Steven's narration is superb! Highly recommended.

A fun series!

I'm loving this series, and so far, I only have one complaint. To end ep# 23 with a cliffhanger, and not reveal what happens in ep #24(or 25, 26, & 27), is downright cruel.
That said, this is a fun series, and Neil Dudgeon's narration is first rate.
