Historia
Despite how it may seem, your brain and body are not unsupportive beasts bent on undermining your fitness goals. They just want some chips and dip, that's all. They aren't the problem. The way you're trying to manipulate them is. In Lightness of Body and Mind: A Radical Approach to Weight and Wellness, personal trainer Sarah Hays Coomer offers a different approach. She proposes that you will never be able to achieve a body you love by doing things that you hate, that deprivation and limitation will never set you free.

Honoring Your Body Through Health
Revisado: 10-23-16
I've been exploring the concept of intuitive eating, and I feel like this book takes it to a whole new level. My big takeaway is: Your life is made of minutes, hours, and days. Be mindful of how you spend them! Sarah does an excellent job of exploring how to get there by honoring yourself and your body. So many industries are thriving by making us feel ugly, fat, and unaccomplished. Shift your focus to living the life you want, what you have (and still want to!) accomplish and build a life, body and mind to get you there. Sarah's literary, and actual voice in this instance, is like that of a comforting friend. The kind that will hold you accountable but is also there to support you when you just need encouragement.
I highly recommend this book to anyone needing perspective on not just physical health, but a whole life of balance.

Life Changing
Revisado: 06-27-16
Personally and professionally life changing. I've been doing a lot of self- work and this was recommended to me. I just finished it and am about to start again. Major breakthroughs! A few highlights I wrote down:
"Telling someone something they need to hear is not wrong. Not considering their feelings is wrong.
Boundaries are a litmus of our relationships.
If someone does something for you, see it as a gift. Someyhing someone does for us because they love us. The appropriate response to a gift is gratitude. Distinguish between those who give to get.
Refusing to forgive someone means that you still want something from them.
Respond versus react: You are in control when you respond. They are in control when you react.
Good things stay good when you limit them."

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

I heard his TED...
Revisado: 06-07-16
I was passed Simon's TED Talk where he talks about the Gold Circle. I loved that so much I bought "Leaders Eat Last" and now here I am with this one. Just brilliant. He does use a few examples in both books, but the content outside of those is so good. Must read.

When you have an eating issue it can feel like the loneliest, hardest place in the world to be. But it doesn't have to be this way. No one knows this better than author Melinda Hutchings, who battled anorexia for three years. Drawing on her own experience, as well as other people's, Melinda openly discusses what this feels like on the inside, how to cope with the complexity of emotions, what to do about where you are at with your eating issue, and what you can look forward to when you get to the other side.

Historia
At some point, every one of us embarks on a journey to find love. We meet people, date, get into and out of relationships, all with the hope of finding someone with whom we share a deep connection. This seems standard now, but it’s wildly different from what people did even just decades ago. Single people today have more romantic options than at any point in human history. With technology, our abilities to connect with and sort through these options are staggering. So why are so many people frustrated?

.... But the author reading it? And that author is Aziz Ansari? How could you not?!
Buy it. Buy it now- if only to understand the Flo Rida Theory of Repetition
