Way too dry, too much build up of background and not enough build up of suspense.

Historia
In a world where the slightest edge can mean the difference between success and failure, Leisha Camden is beautiful, extraordinarily intelligent, and one of a growing number of human beings who have been genetically modified to never require sleep. Once considered interesting anomalies, now Leisha and the other "Sleepless" are outcasts, victims of blind hatred, political repression, and shocking mob violence meant to drive them from human society and, ultimately, from Earth itself.

Atlas Shrugged for the modern era.
Revisado: 04-06-23
This book could easily be the sequel to Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". The successful are successful because they embrace and utilize their individual exceptionalism. The unsuccessful try instead to rely upon collectivism and become beggars. But in the fight against the beggars the exceptional turn to collectivism as well and find their own ruin.

Kit Colbana - half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades - has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake. So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters - especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.

If you like Anita Blake, you'll like this.
Revisado: 02-20-22
I'm most of the way through book three at this point, and I'm enjoying the whole series quite a bit. It reminds me quite strongly of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, so if you enjoy that series you'll likely enjoy this one, and vice versa.

Good story but research is needed
Revisado: 12-23-21
I really wish more research into the weapons used had been done. The M9 is a Beretta not a Glock, Glocks do not have manual safeties. Those who carry firearms for use in combat carry them with a round already chambered, because the time it takes to rack the slide can quite literally be the difference between life and death. The M4 is chambered in 5.56mm which is one of the most anemic rounds ever used in a military rifle, which means that if an M4 has no problem dispatching the zombies, a 9mm pistol won't either. Finally, katanas have curved blades, while the degree of the curve may vary they all are curved, and with a blade length of 4 feet it would be a nodachi, not a katana. Otherwise it's an enjoyable story.

Do not buy, this is a work of plagiarism.
Revisado: 04-20-21
Edit: My original review is below, however after returning this book due to it's poor quality, as outlined in my original review, I got Stephen Baker's Carnivore Diet Bible, and within just minutes I came to realize that this book was largely, if not entirely, plagiarized from others, namely Stephen Baker. The awkward and abnormal word use that I complained about in my original review is clearly an attempt to disguise the plagiarism.
This book contains some really good information, but the composition and presentation is horrible. Virtually every sentence contains poorly chosen words, such as using the word "expend" where the word "consume" is much more appropriate, humans consume food and expend calories, not expend food. There's the use of the word "spread" to indicate some kind of food that is never given a definition, "spread" in America can refer to a whole category of foods like: butter, margarine, mayonnaise, marmalade, etc... and in Britain "spread" refers to margarine, which is made from plants and thus would not be consistent with the Carnivore diet, which means that in either sense of the word, it is being used incorrectly, and it's said a lot. Then there is the excessive use of unnecessary phrases like "be that as it may" and "all things considered", it's bad enough that these phrases are used beyond any reasonable limit, but I do not believe that there is a single instance in this book where either phrase is used correctly. The list of such things could be continued until it fills it's own book, in short the clunky and awkward wording used all throughout this book is such that it seems like the book was originally written in a foreign language and then translate into English using a really cheap and ineffective translation program. So in short, there's good information in the book, but you're going to get a headache trying to decipher it from the mangled language used to write the book.

If you're going to write about firearms in your book you should get some facts about those firearms straight no military in the world uses ar rifles all militaries use military rifles ars are not military.

Unfreedom of the Press is not just another book about the press. [Levin] shows how those entrusted with news reporting today are destroying freedom of the press from within - not through actions of government officials, but with its own abandonment of reportorial integrity and objective journalism. With the depth of historical background for which his books are renowned, Levin takes you on a journey through the early American patriot press, which proudly promoted the principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
