I like that you get to hear the tips and tricks of how rich women navigate motherhood, but nothing was no new or surprising. This book is no different than the thousands of working mom books that ignore the everyday working mom who doesn't have a corporate salary or the flexibility to hire help or leave work early.

The book reads like an infomercial for her companies, Ellevest and Ellevate. She lists how the world is unfair for women then uses it to sell why women need her company. It's a conflict of interest because it makes me question if a woman like her made it to the top of Wall Street without Ellevest, then why can't other women make it without Ellevest? Some people sell victimhood in order to make money as the anecdote. I liked some of her personal stories, but didn't learn much.

I enjoyed this book. I am not a fan of Facebook at all. But this book really isn't about that. Its also not about finances or balancing it all. Its a book about Sheryl Sandberg and the lessons she learned in her rise to the C suite. As a woman who aspires to be her own boss, I found her advice interesting in preparing me to enter this corporate world. Maybe I will be as lucky as she's been. Maybe not, but I will learn from her mistakes when the time is right.

Her life has mirrored mine, minus the accomplishments. I was raised in a 2 parent home where my dad was the breadwinner. By the time I was married I was a business owner and working toward goals. But I gave it all up when I got married. I always figured my priorities would and should shift when I got married. Fast forward to a few years ago, and now I am rebuilding my life as a mom separated from her husband with 3 young children. Had I followed the steps mentioned in this book and thought like a breadwinner, I wouldn't have missed a beat. I would have a great retirement and career to help. This book talks about investments, retirement, and all the ways women give up their power. Whether your Prince Charming comes or not, is married to you forever, or divorces you after 10 years, its ways wise to think like a breadwinner.
