The Women is probably the best novel I have read in years. Being of age during the Vietnam War, it helped me understand how our soldiers - including women - felt coming home. Unpacking emotions and coping with the aftermath of serving, shed light on these unsung hero’s. Highly recommend - and have plenty of tissues handy.

I normally love the “Read with Jenna” selections, but this is dull and drags on. Tom Hanks is a horrible narrator too - who would have thought???

Would you try another book from Patricia Cornwell and/or Susan Ericksen?
I usually love Patricia Cornwell, but this book/plot was just terrible. It was slow and had little lot. Terribly disappointed.

Didn't Meet Expectations

Would you try another book from J. K. Rowling and/or Tom Hollander?
Disappointed in JK Rowling's "adult fiction" book. The Casual Vacancy fell flat on its face. Too many characters, too predicable an ending - it didn't meet my expectations after her Potter series.
If this were written by anyone other than Rowling, it would be panned outright.
Tom Hollander tried his best to embody the various characters and reads with great diction. He was the one bright spot in this recording.

Tom did a great job. I would listen to another of his performances again.
