In this instance the locked room is an airship.
While this is listed under the steampunk category, the only thing that makes it steampunkish is the mention of the airship, the clockwork lights and smoke extractor. The writing and characters driving the story seem like it should be under the Young Adult/New Adult category.
While the narrator had a nice voice, he was perhaps not the best choice for this book. Strange accents for some of the characters, and odd pronunciations for some words (cravat is pronounced cra-vat not crav-at). The turning/flipping of pages picked up during recording is a bit of a distraction.

this is an LGBT based story. If women kissing women, and men dressing in gowns offends your sensibilities, be warned. Audible does not mention this category modifier anywhere. Otherwise it is a interesting spin on a paranormal investigation theme.

Even though this series written, and takes place, in the '80s it is still an exciting suspense and romance.

couldn't stop laughing...

but i don't think i was supposed to be.
Just finished working on a 1930's project review 'good wife' ads before i started this story, and the first chapter of it was right up there with it's absurdity. Couldn't get much past the first chapter.

Had to return this one.
Story line premise sounded good; but I found it very slow with a lot of sex thrown in for the sake of the characters having sex.
And normally I like Hollie Jackson as a narrator, but this was a struggle to listen to. Too soft sounding.
