The Wandering Inn is by far the best series in this genre. All the characters are deep and lovely and have a unique voice.

Parsneau's narration adds a whole new level to the text with voice and emotion and song. Just wonderful

The story is really enjoyable, pretty much exactly what you would expect if you’ve read the Martian.

The narrator is very good at putting the right emotions and stuff into the voices. However he doesn’t manage to make the different female characters voices distinct. It took me a while to realize there was more than one, which I only understood from the different names.

The American and Russian accents were well done I think, the different European accents didn’t sound like anything.

All in all I would definitely recommend this book.

Both Hayes' writing and McCarley's performance are excellent. For a moment, in the beginning, the setting seemed like it might a bit awkward, but at no point was that the case.

Just like in Super Powereds, Hayes avoids villains who are evil for the sake of being evil, instead opting for having every character having good reasons for what they do.

I truly adored the way Owen's homosexuality is treated: as just a small part of who he is. All Hayes' characters are interesting and multi-faceted, and McCarley brings them to life with his performance. As McCarley did in Super Powereds, he gives every character a recognizable and fitting own voice, only increasing the immersion in the story.

The book starts out with one-dimensional characters, playing every trope straight in a somewhat dull way. Don't let that stop you from reading because Drew Hayes turns it around for a hugely satisfying read with a well-thought-out plot and interesting characters. Much recommended reading.

Kyle McCarley brings the book to life in a subtle but brilliant performance. The voices he gives the characters are recognizable and fitting.

At some points in the book I struggled to keep reading, but without exception after some time I started to itch to know more of what would happen to Bridger, Mycroft anf Carlisle. I liked this book a lot and I recommend this to anyone.
