Historia
Ahren's enormous undertaking to unite the thirteen Paladins has, following years of dangerous journeying, come to a successful conclusion. Now there is only one task left for him to complete. He must lead the Champions of the gods, his other friends, and the free peoples of Jorath in an assault on the Obsidian Fortress. Yet the Adversary is intent on foiling his archenemies' plan before they reach his hordes lurking behind the compound walls. The Dark god's scheme is to spring the trap that was set centuries earlier in preparation for just such an event.

Historia
Ahren and his companions journey on to Evergreen, finding new courage after the traumas of the Green Sea. Setting off, then, to traverse the continent in search of the missing Paladin Yollock, it isn't long before they find themselves sucked into a maelstrom of adventures involving a woman who has been robbed, a desperate Cape Verstaad grandee, not to mention a cutthroat city which proves itself a veritable nest of ne'er-do-wells. Controlled by the brilliant assassin Reik Silvermantle, this hub of lawlessness and immorality presents Ahren and his friends with one of their greatest challenges.

Story good - this narrator not. Bring back G Jackson!
Revisado: 02-15-25
After 10 narrations by Gildart Jackson we get this!?? Definitely not in same league and did a disservice to the series. Should be renarrated by Mr Jackson.
Story was awesome and good continuation of the series.

Historia
Centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones, House Targaryen - the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria - took up residence on Dragonstone. Fire & Blood begins their tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart.

Great narration - story is like a history textbook
Revisado: 06-06-23
Simon Vance’s narration is superb throughout this book. It made the relatively dry history enjoyable to listen while driving.

Great story and narration!

This well written story takes place before The Force Awakens and Return of the Jedi and it sheds some light on the origins of Rey. The story utilizes some favorite characters in its plot (Lando, Luke, and R2D2).

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

I've come to appreciate this book better having read it now in my forties versus back when I was in high school. It's amazing to think that this was written in 1948

Very good narration. Took a bit to get into it
Revisado: 01-27-22
Very good narration.
The story, bei good my first exposure to anything Dune, took a bit to get engrossed in due to all the setup needed in building new world in reader's mind. But after that, it was engaging and easy to follow along. I may pick up the next one and read it.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Great story - excellent narration!
Revisado: 01-09-22
I first read this book in the 90s. Loved it then and loved it now (2022). But this reading of it drew way too many parallels withe what we've been going through with the pandemic. It illustrated how eerily accurate Stephen King can be with details. It's what makes him a great author. I even watched the 4 part series that aired on TV in the 90s and own VHS tapes of it. Shows you how I loved King's story.
Narration: This was about my 10th audible book and I have to say that Grover Gardner is an excellent narrator and the produ tion was seemless! I couldn't tell where the edits were made to the audio because it was beautifully edited together. The narrator was awesome - used voice inflections to great effect as if I were reading all the punctuation myself. When there were speaking parts, he used subtle accents appropriate for the book character that was speaking. It was if he was sitting in the same room with me, reading the book aloud as I was tucked in bed, aptly listening.
