Historia
The story of Lady Chatterley and her love for her husband's gamekeeper outraged the sensibilities of Edwardian England. Lawrence had already been dismissed as a purveyor of the obscene for the attitudes to sex that he had shown in The Rainbow, which had been fiercely suppressed on its publication in 1915. Chatterley, written in several versions around 1928 in Italy in the final part of Lawrence's life, was a deliberate choice on the author's part to address sex head on.

One of my favorite Classics
Revisado: 01-16-23
Honestly, I had no idea this book was going to be what it was. It's a shame that such an incredible literary offering was demonized and persecuted the way that this book was. I do hope you'll give it a chance and that you'll love it as much as I did. Thank you Mr. Lawrence.

Historia
Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption.

Why....why is this so good?
Revisado: 10-24-21
I mean, I love Joe Abercrombie. I love every single book he's written and every story he's told but I have to say, when Steven Pacey narrates his work, the result is sublime. Do yourself a favor, download and listen to every single book by Joe narrated by Steven Pacey and thank me later.

This was my first Brené Brown book I can honestly say it's one of the most important books on leadership I've ever been exposed to. I've been in positions of leadership for over a decade and I've encountered many helpful volumes on that subject, this one was the most insightful and human. Brené is a treasure trove of honesty, humility, relatable anecdotes and brilliant observations. She swears a lot too which is delightful 😆

Historia
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

I've read the book before but never listened to it spoken. The performance was exceptional and his voice complemented the text beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Historia
The Devil comes to Moscow, but he isn't all bad; Pontius Pilate sentences a charismatic leader to his death, but yearns for redemption; and a writer tries to destroy his greatest tale, but discovers that manuscripts don't burn. Multi-layered and entrancing, blending sharp satire with glorious fantasy, The Master and Margarita is ceaselessly inventive and profoundly moving. In its imaginative freedom and raising of eternal human concerns, it is one of the world's great novels.

What a fantastic surprise!

I know this is a very unpopular sentiment but, I am generally not a huge fan of Russian authors. that being said, this book was recommended to me by a very well-read friend. The book certainly has the traditional Russian verbosity but the story was profoundly entertaining and colorful. I would certainly recommend this Audible performance, the narrator was a magnificent performer and absolutely brought to life the characters and the tone of the story. 5 stars in all areas, very glad I read this book.
