ok story I guess?

this was a DNF. for me. the story might be ok, but it's overshadowed by the complete buffoon of a MC and how the author treats you the reader as absolutely incapable of rational thinking. The way the mc overthinks everything so the author can explain every minute detail to the reader/listener is just awful. also way to much unnecessary stats. some stats you can safely skip, so that's something good.

decent story, but...

the story is good, but the narration... so. bad.!
iv dnf. and returned a previous book this narrator have done, but thought I'd give this one a shot.
to the books credit I managed to finish it even with the terrible narration.
the narrator has the worst WORST woman voices ever! and the dialect he uses is just flat out horrible, it's actually painful to listen to. His normal voice however, the one he uses for the mc is good, better than good even. if the book was done in the style of the mc it would have been an excellent experience.

It's a good listen, if you liked the first one. It's also a bit all over the place, like the first one, but that is sorta a good thing.
It's easy to tell that this autor has knowledge about cultivation, but is not used to writing it, it's like a DotF light if you will.

My biggest gripe with this book is the gun porn(?), it's not a book that goes out of its way to describe things in detail, but when it comes to guns, suddenly its a 356 modified magnum shooting a hollowpoint 546whatever with bladibla and more blah... for a gun nut, thats probably cool stuff, but for me it's just really anoying and it just brakes my immersion, it's the only really detaied part of the books.

other than that, had a blast listening to it, will recommend it and im looking forward to the next one.

Also, Narration is on point!

I love this series, but this was a bit of a slog...
it's way slower than the others and a bit too much introspection for my liking.
Still a good book, but not nearly at the level of the others in the series.

plot armor and stupidity

this could have been an amazing book, but the amount of stats that gets shoved down your throat and by evere small feat achieved and the fact that you never really get exited due to a huge piece of plot armor maks this a dull read/listen.

the premise of the book is awesome, just horrendous execution. Baldree is good as always, but even his divine larynx can't save this one...

Alot of Zach

I really like the first book, but struggled with this one.
it's not bad, I just really don't like Zach and I can't bring myself to care what happens to him, which is a shame sins 70% of this book is Zach...
Also there is way to many unnecessary 5min ++ character sheet readouts.

if you are like me you'll enjoy about 30% of this book. Again I'm not saying the rest is bad, just not for me.

It's a good book, but...

The book and it's story is good, but the stat readouts, the da*n stats... it's literally 2hours + of only character sheet readouts!

usually I don't mind it, but that's when they make sense to use and bring something to the story. here on the other hand, a full list of all stats and abilities (witch takes about 5min to listen to) up to 3 times per chapter, and the worst part is, they are not needed at all....

Amazing narration, the rest.. not so much...

First of, narration is fabulous!

Story tho... if you like a MC that is completely flat and everyone just love because of reasons, and a story that, within the 2 first levels lets the Mc get blessed by gods, randomly finds a priceless artifact lost to the ages, gets a race so OP that he literally can’t die and is way above everyone when it comes to abilities without even trying, then this book might be for you!

For me tho... amazingly boring and unrelatable
