Historia
"You are your own, and you belong to yourself." This is the fundamental assumption of modern life. And if we are our own, then it's up to us to forge our own identities and to make our lives significant. But while that may sound empowering, it turns out to be a crushing responsibility - one that never actually delivers on its promise of a free and fulfilled life, but instead leaves us burned out, depressed, anxious, and alone. This phenomenon is mapped out onto the very structures of our society, and helps explain our society's underlying disorder.

Insights about Humane Living
Revisado: 12-26-21
Noble helps us wisely consider the unhealthy individualism that has captivated our hearts, minds, and societal relationships. Likewise, he shows the deep and wide goodness of the gospel for engaging in truly humane living.

Historia
Have we been taught to discount the veracity and deeper meaning of our emotional resonance with the world around us? In The Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis looks at the curriculum of the English "prep school" and begins to wonder if this subliminal teaching has indeed produced a generation who discount such a nature.

Reread and Discuss These Every Year or So!
Revisado: 11-27-21
Reread and discuss these Lewis books often to restore, re-moralize and rehumanize your soul! Lewis' analysis is timely and timeless. For Abolition, go read Stapleton, Wells, Huxley, and Clarke (Come to think of it, read some Cyberpunk authors too.). Then bring them into discussion with C.S. Lewis. Expect to be a little disoriented and challenged by your first listening/reading, but come back to it. Both books will eventually bring you a sense of wisdom and hope for meaningful living.
