Very different but in a good way

I loved this. I would have given all 5 stars except I felt like it just ended and left me wondering how everything worked out for each of the characters. The narrators were awesome. The future slang took a minute to get used to but the concept, characters, and writing were superb.

I started the series and had no idea this book was male/male until I was already listening to it. I was confused for about 2 seconds but then decided to give it a chance...give love a chance. I’m so glad I did. I think love through adversity can be some of the purest love out there. It isn’t easy so it’s gotta be worth it. These 2 opened my eyes to that kind of live story. Great plot and great characters. Glad I listened :)

Corny, over done

Everything in this book was extremely corny from the phrases repeated over and over to the stupid stuff the main characters said to each other. It was very cliche. I love Stoker’s other books and series so I’m hoping this was just a one off and the rest of this new series is better.

So much angst!!!

I listen to and read hundreds of books but rarely leave a full review. This book is worth the review. I loved every moment from the beginning to the end. It was so painful and raw and so full of love and lust. I was crushed and uplifted. I was disappointed and sad but then elated and hopeful. It messed with my emotions in all the best ways. Narrators rocked. I couldn’t wait to go back to work and tell all my romance reading friends about it. 5 stars!!!

I adore Susan Stoker and have read all of her books. I found this story to feel very contrived and corny. The characters were not developed like she usually does and the love story was hard to buy into. Sorry Susan.

Ozzie deserves better :(

I waited so long for Ozzie’s story and was so disappointed. First, Samantha Tate? Ew. She’s been a villain the entire series. It could have worked if we had gotten to know her more over the previous books. I honestly thought I had missed a book because she just showed up for a tour and then all of a sudden Ozzie loves her and trusts her. Second, Ozzie’s own struggles were barely covered. He has gone through a lot and deserved more attention. I was actually more interested in the rare snippets about Christian and Emily. I’m going to pretend like Ozzie got a more deserving girl who was strong and matched his wit and humor. Samantha Tate...ew.

I loved Shooter and wanted to continue the series. I’ve read plenty of BDSM books in the past but this one just didn’t sit well with me. The storyline was disjointed and the relationship between Tex and Abby wasn’t fully developed before he started training her. I am continuing the series and hoping for better with the next book.

Not a good narration

The narrator made the leading lady sound like a total child, which is not what I want to think about in a romance book. That being said, the leading lady was written to be child-like (believes in fairy tales and such) so maybe that was the point. I liked the little twists with the ex and then the drug guys at the end but would have loved more of that.

Definitely not my favorite KA book. It seemed drawn out and wordy. I liked a few of the action scenes but the flow seemed off. The narrator was not very good. Hoping the next in the series is better.
