Loved every minute of this book!
Revisado: 05-15-19
I’m so sad and feel so empty now that this book is finished. ~sigh... I might need to wait a few days to start a new one. This was a *great* book. The narration was great, too. I was listen to this one again.

Historia
Struggling manufacturer Robert Moore has introduced labour saving machinery to his Yorkshire mill, arousing a ferment of unemployment and discontent among his workers. Robert considers marriage to the wealthy and independent Shirley Keeldar to solve his financial woes, yet his heart lies with his cousin Caroline, who, bored and desperate, lives as a dependent in her uncle’s home with no prospect of a career. Shirley, meanwhile, is in love with Robert’s brother, an impoverished tutor - a match opposed by her family.

definitely worth getting the full version
Revisado: 03-26-19
I started with this shorter version mainly because of the narrator but as soon as this ended, I grabbed the full version. It makes much more sense and the characters are more developed. This was not bad by any means, but the full version is better.

Historia
Isabel Archer is a young American woman swept off to Europe in the late 19th century by an aunt who hopes to round out the impetuous but naïve girl's experience of the world. When Isabel comes into a large, unexpected inheritance, she is finagled into a marriage with the charming, penniless, and - as Isabel finds out too late - cruel and deceitful Gilbert Osmond, whose connection to a certain Madame Merle is suspiciously intimate.

Painful
Revisado: 01-28-19
O...M...Goodness....please make the lengthy descriptions STOP. It is so distracting and in my opinion a terrible continuation of Isabel's life. Finally, to end the madness I just went to the last chapter of the book. After listening to authors such as Jane Austen use perfectly positioned descriptions, this was painful.

Historia
When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables, Prince Edward Island, send for a boy orphan to help them out at the farm, they are in no way prepared for the error that will change their lives. The mistake takes the shape of Anne Shirley, a redheaded 11-year-old girl who can talk anyone under the table. Fortunately, her sunny nature and quirky imagination quickly win over her reluctant foster parents. Anne's feisty spirit soon draws many friends - and much trouble - her way.

Historia
At the tender age of 10, Fanny Price is 'adopted' by her rich relations and is removed from the poverty of her home in Portsmouth to the opulence of Mansfield Park. The transplantation is not a happy one. Dependent, helpless, neglected and forgotten, Fanny struggles to come to terms with her new life until, tested almost to the limits of endurance, she assumes her rightful role....

Good story excellent narration
Revisado: 08-06-18
I think for me the problem with Mansfield Park is that it comes after Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice if you are listening in the order written. It seemed a bit all over the place and at times I forgot all about Fanny Price. It took me about 30 chapters to really start following along and stop rewinding the story. Thinking back this book is about a place, Mansfield Park and less about a person, Fannie Price. I expected it to be more like the first two books. I did enjoy the book. I might try it again when all is said and done to see if my listening experience is any different now that I know what to expect. The narration is perfection. Juliet Stevenson is the best.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
