Historia
For the past year and a half, Willem has been an outcast in his hometown. Everyone believes he’s a killer. On top of the murder accusations, his “biofuel/fertilizer” business is failing. He’s well over knee-deep in inventory with no chance of a sale in sight. When Murven, his out-of-work best buddy, volunteers to help him with his daily collection, they discover Willem is stockpiling more than he bargained for as an "entre-manure."

Too cartoonish to be entertaining. At least I made it all the way through. The narration was too slow to visualize all of the action packed into it. This book was a Dagwood sandwich with too many tomatoes. It was quickly soggy and fell apart.

Historia
Folks in Moab live for ice cream socials, baseball, and the local paper’s weekly gossip column. Sheriff Winston Browne has watched over Moab with a generous eye for a decade, and by now he’s used to handling the daily dramas that keep life interesting for Moab’s quirky residents. But just after Winston receives some terrible, life-altering news, a seemingly mute runaway with no clear origin arrives in Moab. The residents do what they believe is right and take her in - until two suspicious strangers arrive and begin looking for her.

The humour, location, story and characterization can't be beat.

I liked everything from start to finish. There was not one moment I didn't. The authors descriptive words could not have been more perfect in capture of a time and place. The narrator's voice was made for this title.

Heartwarming story of survival.
Revisado: 08-20-24
The story flows like a slow, beautiful river, rapid at times, peaceful at others until coming to a beautifully deserved ending.

Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

Couldn't stop listening.

I wanted to reach into the book and slap her mother a few times. Not predictable, and very positive, despite the setting.
