Too many subplots and threads and two main characters who are ones you would never want to be associated with.

Too much tine spent on describing the inner psyches of 2 very unlikable characters so that it got slow and boring

Tedious
Revisado: 03-12-22
Took too long to read and to unwind the plot. Convoluted and not made interesting although the plot could have been if writing were better. And provided more excitement. Many times it sagged and I was wishing it were over.

Good story, bad narration
Revisado: 08-09-21
I have always loved this authors books and look forward to every one. However he is a poor narrator and his voice is not meant for easy listening, it is tough to listen to for all the hours. Sorry to say it but he should stick to the writing and story lines for which he is most commendable and find a professional narrator.

Great series, but needs a different narrator
Revisado: 09-01-18
I love this series and was so happy to see a new one as I have read all the others. But this time the author, who I admire for his writing, did the narrating. It ruined it for me. So it pains me to say that his voice is not the voice of an assassin in my view and seemed way out of character with the protagonist of the series, and that was very problematic for me. The voice needs to match up with the character, and the voice of this main character needed something way different, Plus the lisp was out of synch with a protagonist who is portrayed as a powerful killing machine. The author should stick to writing his wonderful books and leave the narration to a professional narrator please. With a different narrator I would have given more stars.

Unsatisying
Revisado: 09-09-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Time not well spent. If anyone has had a friend or family member as an alcoholic, this book will make you relive your misery
Would you ever listen to anything by Jane Green again?
Perhaps if a different story line. She does character development well, but the story was sophorpic, depressing for most of the book, and had a predictable end
Would you listen to another book narrated by Jane Green?
If she could pick up her speed a bit. She has a nice voice and inflection but sooooooo very slow. The 13 hours should have been 8 at the most.
Was Summer Secrets worth the listening time?
No
