While it took awhile to get started, it was a good fantasy epic tragedy. The characters worked in the world and the magic was mysterious enough. Enjoyed it!

If you could sum up The Song of Achilles in three words, what would they be?

engaging,enjoyable, and dramatic

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed how the author gave a bit of a different take on classical story of Achilles from the view of Patroculus. I thought it was interesting to see how she developed and accepted the classical "facts" and put them into the framework of the story. She made me break out my Illiad to refresh myself.

What about Frazer Douglas’s performance did you like?

The variation in tone helped me keep the characters more apart than I expected in a Greek myth.

Who was the most memorable character of The Song of Achilles and why?

Patroculus - as the central character, I thought they developed him well.

What made the experience of listening to Hexed the most enjoyable?

I really enjoy how the characters are voiced. There is enough difference of inflection and tone that you can tell the different characters from each other.

What did you like best about this story?

The story is solid and a great second book. I really enjoy both the characters of Atticus and Oberon. The widow McDunnough is a hoot. It isnt great literature but it is a fun yarn and makes time pass quickly. I find a plethora of stuff to chuckle about in this book as the writer has a great sense of humor.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have and it compares favorably. I like his narrating style.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Very much so.

What did you love best about The Irregulars?

I loved the insight into Washington during the War. My parents having grown up in the city, I am constantly fascinated by the stories they tell about all the goings on and how Washington transformed from a sleepy Southern town to the city it is today.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Irregulars?

The discussions about the Wallace Vice Presidency was absolutely fascinating. I had not realized what a concern that he caused to the British government.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved most by the post war period. It seems that the people in the book were constantly chasing the life they had during the war.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this. I found it very interesting and entertaining to hear about Dahl's life. The literary figure seems so divorced from real man.
