Difficult to get into the story

The main character was in her head way too long and too much. It took much to long to open up to someone.

Very good dietary information

There is so much information to learn it can be overwhelming. You need to listen to it more than once. I started supplementing my micro biome while listening and adding prebiotics and probiotics to my diet that I was changing. I feel better, less joint pains in knees and hips and I know I’m losing weight. It’s challenging to start, but I’m keeping it up.

I loved it as usual and it had multiple subplots, so I could barely get anything else done. I just had to get to the end. My only complaint would be the pronoun is toon of Maurice’s name by the narrator like Morice. It would stop me cold. “Who is that?”
I had to think about it. Then I would remember it was her mentor.

Many holes due to lack of explanation by the hero

I was engaged with the story, but disappointed with the the lack of explanation by the hero. The ending was disappointing.

Couldn't finish it.

I found it boring after awhile. Anything the magician needed he could pull out of his bag of tricks, steal from others memories. No obstacles can stop him. Yes, he helped others which was good. The magician married a queen, yet she was an undeveloped character. Author never wrote of the wedding with all the fireworks and celebration, emotions. I have no idea if they loved each other. Someone should remind this author that women read more books than men and he's cutting out things that would appeal to women too. I would like an exchange.

What a fantastic story of lifting the poor women out of poverty and even early death

I had read before about beliefs of other cultures that keep women even children poor and abused. The sexually damaged women by cutting the clitoris, child marriage and possible fistula. I cried lots for the personal stories, but I laughed about examples of the women who found their power. What admirable work you are doing.

Hard to like character

Author could only make me somewhat sympathetic to the character due to his desire to not have the family moved to a lower class apartment. It was hard to stay engaged with the main character. The stakes weren’t life and death, they were societal failure, until he went to a different district.

Great writer and story of organic farming.

I love this writer. She makes me laugh and cry over the difficulties of joining a man with his dream of organic farming and trying to keep something for herself. She tries to juggle it all farming, becoming a Mother and writing an exceptional book.

This book was slow and drawn out.

The book started out good and interesting, but in the middle it slowed down, like the author didn’t know what to write next and was repetitive sometimes. It had a good ending, but was somewhat rushed and character growth not well defined. It would have benefited with another rewrite from the middle on.
