Historia
Saburo Sakai became a living legend in Japan during World War II. Pilots everywhere spoke in awe of his incredible exploits in the air. Of all Japan’s aces, Saburo Sakai is the only pilot who never lost a wingman in combat. For a man who engaged in more than 200 aerial combats, this was an incredible achievement. His remarkable book Samurai! written by Martin Caiden but with the assistance of Sakai and Fred Saito is a brilliant account of life as a Japanese pilot in the Second World War.

Poor Narrator
Revisado: 06-09-19
I’ve made it through less than an hour of this book and cannot handle the narrator. His cadence and tone remind me of a bad 1950s western movie. Moreover, it appears little research was done as there are multiple mispronunciations throughout. I hate that I wasted a credit on this performance. This is a story that needs to be told but not with this narrator.

Historia
Most discussions of German resistance during World War II end here, with the failed July 20 plot and the subsequent execution of its leaders. And yet this was far from the last act of disobedience carried out against the Nazi regime, as Randall Hansen reveals in his fascinating new book.

Bronson Pinchot puts on a performance with every one of his reads. I’ve followed his work on Audible and his engaging style brings me in to genres stories I haven’t earlier considered. The story itself is an intriguing look in to both overt and covert efforts to sabotage Hitler’s regime and doctrines throughout World War 2. Some of the stories are quite well known, others, this is the first I’ve heard of them.

Historia
June, 1941. Determined that the United States will be prepared for war, Franklin D. Roosevelt and "Wild Bill" Donovan orchestrate the most complex espionage organization in history, the Office of Strategic Services. Young and daring, the OSS assemble under a thin camouflage of diplomacy and then disperse throughout the world to conduct their operations. And no operation is more critical than the one being conducted by hotshot pilot Richard Canidy and his half-German friend Eric Fulmar: to secure the rare ore that will power a top-secret weapon....

Painful Narration
Revisado: 04-14-18
I couldn’t do it. The narration was the most over the top pitiful performance I’ve heard in the dozens of audiobooks. The odd character voices sounded like the narrator was channeling Spaghetti Westerns of the 1950s. It was so awful and distracting that I had to end the audio book 12 minutes in and buy the paperback to finish the story. Unless you find this title by another narrator I would steer clear.

Reeks of Conspiracy Theorist
Revisado: 04-14-18
I should have read the synopsis more closely. This book immediately gave me the impression of someone trying to inflate their earlier contributions to add weight to their flighty stories of their involvement in 1947 Roswell. I would move this title to Science Fiction and Fantasy.
