Historia
In September 1926, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple Fletcher visits Sybil Sutherby, a school friend now living in Derbyshire as the confidential secretary to a novelist. Suspecting that something is seriously amiss, Sybil has asked Daisy to discretely investigate. Upon arrival, Daisy finds a household of relatives and would-be suitors living off the hospitality of Humphrey Birtwhistle, who had been supporting them through his thrice-yearly, pseudonymous Westerns. When he took ill, though, Sybil took over writing them while he recovered, only to see the sales increase. Now, she fears that someone in the household is poisoning Birtwhistle to keep him ill and Sybil writing the better-paying versions.

One of her best
Revisado: 10-02-23
This one had an unusual twist for an ending. I do find some of the reader’s feminine voices just a touch too strident in tone, other that I enjoy listening to her readings.

Terrible narration
Revisado: 02-11-23
I have enjoyed the complete series as to story lines, however this narrator was gawd awful. It was very difficult to listen when Derrick was in conversation with any of the other characters because his British accent was a caricature of the British accents in any of the previous books. It would be a shame to keep this narrator should we be lucky enough to have additional books in the series.

Great fun! Characters are quirky and the storyteller does a great job

I'm enjoying these off the wall paranormal "cozy" mysteries. Got hooked by accident as I was looking for something less intense in the mystery/police procedures venue. Try one of these seven Deadwood novels and I know you will have a fun time listening.

Interesting and believable characters that travel well. Great descriptions of locations unique story lines and twisted endings. If you enjoy interesting locations, bright characters and unique fun stories Ellen Crosby's books both "The Wine Country and Sophia Medina Mysteries" are a fun read.

Historia
Spencer Quinn’s first original audio short story reveals how everyone’s favorite detective duo - Chet the Dog and P.I. Bernie Little - came to meet before their first big case in Dog On It. As fans know, Chet first met Bernie on that fateful day when he flunked out of K-9 police school. The details of that day, though, have always remained a little vague (like so much in Chet’s doggy brain). All we know is that Chet had been the best leaper in his K-9 class, but for some reason he failed his final leaping test...and that a cat was involved...and that there was some blood. But whose?

This was a fun read and an even better listening gig. This storyteller makes visualization very easy. If you believe that your pets are part human you will enjoy these books.

Great first book in series
Revisado: 06-10-16
Story is heartwarming, maddening and suspenseful. Reader is good, my only objection is the delay between chapter or time frames. That's most frustrating I kept wondering if my battery ran out or some other problem came up, then reading would begin again.
