My favorite author is Gary Paulsen and the Hatchet series is one of his best. I love the River as a sequel to Hatchet. I highly recommend for any young man or as a family read.

I just finished the book but started it over a week ago. Since I started the book I have begun to do the diet and have already lost 4.5 lbs. Their advice about feasting with fasting is awesome and really works well. As a businessman I really appreciate the comparison to money as it makes it so I understand it. Overall if you want a way to lose weight while not buying into those fad diets and without making you feel miserable and still getting to feast, then this is the book for you. Thank you guys!

I greatly enjoyed this book. Music Theory has always been my weak point and I have been teaching music for years. I decided that I was going to commit to learning more about music theory and saw this book on audible. At first I thought there was no way to teach music theory through an audio book, but I was pleasantly surprised. This book not only helped me but will help my students for years to come.

Great book, wonderful performance, endepth knowledge, and a fantastic resource for years to come. Thank you!

Practical learning for getting your money in Order

Would you listen to The Richest Man in Babylon again? Why?

I plan on listening to this on trips or at least once a week for the foreseeable future. It tells the story of people going from slavery to becoming wealthy. It shares practical insights about how you should live your life. It shows how laziness gets you no where and how you can change your life through saving and paying back.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Each story brought a nugget of truth, I don't think I am able to choose just one of the characters (nor do I think I can spell them correctly). I enjoyed the story of the young man who owes a few "coppers" to several different people but is really hungry and wants food but has no money. A friend of his father, who he owes money to, comes up to him and the young many instantly feels down cast because he knows the man is going to ask for his money. The man does this, but when the young man cannot pay he actually ends up teaching him a life lesson about how he went from owing several people, to being thrown into slavery, then getting free, and paying back everyone he ever owed. Now he is able to lend money to other people, like the young man.

Which character – as performed by Grover Gardner – was your favorite?

Mr. Grover Gardner is an excellent reader. I enjoy each of the characters that he perfrmed, but I cannot choose just one.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

If you read what I wrote above about my favorite character than you have my answer.

Any additional comments?

Reading self help/motivational books or listening to speakers cannot compare to the practical wisdom that is found in this book. This is a book that every young man who wants to know how to think about money, saving money, or earning money should read.

The Millionaire Next Door, life changing insights

Would you listen to The Millionaire Next Door again? Why?

I plan to listen to this book once every few months so that I can hear the information and apply the information to my life. This book outlines and details the insights of what millionaires do. The focus is not in how they became rich, but the lifestyles that make them rich. If you want to be wise and become the millionaire next door, then this should be your first book.

What other book might you compare The Millionaire Next Door to and why?

The Millionaire Mind, which is the next book in the series. I also highly recommend that one. Think and Grow Rich, it has a lot of the same concepts except this book is more of how the Millionaires live rather than learning Technics like Think and Grow Rich teaches. Personally, I think you should listen to all three.

Which character – as performed by Cotter Smith – was your favorite?

Cotter Smith is an amazing reader, I would enjoy hearing him read more books. In this book it is really the Narrator who is talking with a few examples from individual people. Either way, I enjoy Cotter Smith's reading and speaking style.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

How the Millionaire Think and Lives

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book and after you are done with this one read/listen to the Millionaire Mind, then Think and Grow Rich.

If you could sum up The Millionaire Mind in three words, what would they be?

Think, Wisdom, Money

What other book might you compare The Millionaire Mind to and why?

The Richest Man in Babylon. Both seek to teach you wisdom instead of get rich quick schemes. You must be prepared to think or the information will not work for you.

Have you listened to any of Cotter Smith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but I enjoyed Cotter Smith a lot during this and I hope to hear other books done by him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It forces you to think and if you are wise you will grow in more learning.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to better themselves, learn how to live wisely, and get rich the correct way. It is not for someone who wants a quick get rich scheme or someone who wants to spend a lot of money and be "TV Rich". The people outlined in this book become rich and they are rich because they are smart and know how to handle their lives. I have learned so much from this book and will keep reading it (or listening to it) over and over again.
