Historia
On his 59th birthday, Tyson Parks—a famous, but struggling, horror writer—receives an ornate antiquarian desk in the hopes it will rekindle his creative juices. Perhaps inspire him to write another best-selling book and prove his best years aren’t behind him… As Tyson begins to use the new desk, he finds himself writing copy at an unfathomable speed, becomes so focused on writing that he binges on all-night, all-day sessions that take a serious physical and psychological toll. Soon, Tyson begins acting strange. Violent.

Expertly Written and Narrated
Revisado: 09-12-23
This book was SO entertaining and trust me I am so picky when it comes to audiobooks. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone who is into horror. This made me want to write a horror book honestly (maybe without a desk tho) lol.

When four old University friends set off into the Scandinavian wilderness of the Arctic Circle, they aim to briefly escape the problems of their lives and reconnect with one another. But when Luke, the only man still single and living a precarious existence, finds he has little left in common with his well-heeled friends, tensions rise. With limited experience between them, a shortcut meant to ease their hike turns into a nightmare scenario that could cost them their lives. Lost, hungry, and surrounded by forest untouched for millennia, Luke figures things couldn't possibly get any worse.

This book creeped me out! The descriptions of certain things were great! He tells you just enough to give you an idea and creep you out but leaves enough to the imagination to make it even more terrifying. The last quarter of the book was a little iffy and I couldn’t pay much attention but I would listen again if only for the first 3/4!!

Can I just say, UNDERRATED AUTHOR?? This book was so interesting and super fun to listen to. I highly reccomend listening to anything by Steve Stred and/or narrated by Shep Pryor. Perfect voice for horror!

Historia
One hot summer night, Lourdes, Fernanda, Ana, Perla, and Pauline hold a séance. Their tipsy laughter turns to terror when the flames burn straight through their prayer candles and Fernanda starts crawling toward her friends and chanting in Nahuatl, the language of their Aztec ancestors. Over the next few weeks, Fernanda starts acting strangely—smearing herself in black makeup, shredding her hands on rose thorns, sucking sin out of the mouths of the guilty. The local priest is convinced it's a demon, but Lourdes suspects it's something else—something far more ancient and powerful.

Very basic teenage possession story
Revisado: 09-05-23
As referenced in the book, this is pretty much a variation of The Craft as a book. Kinda like fanfic level writing but it was enjoyable. If it was any longer I wouldn’t have gotten through it but it was an easy/entertaining listen. I liked the feminism about it but it may be better for a teen to read. The narrator was kinda annoying but that may just be me as well.

Absolutely loved it!!
Revisado: 09-02-23
This book sucked me in immediately. The narration is phenomenal and you are doing yourself a disservice if you just read it although the story is awesome as well. Twisted and dark but also lighthearted at times! I wish I could give this more than 5 stars!

Historia
From New York Times best-selling author Stephen Graham Jones comes a novel that is equal parts psychological horror and cutting social commentary on identity politics and the American-Indian experience. Fans of Jordan Peele and Tommy Orange will love this story as it follows the lives of four American-Indian men and their families, all haunted by a disturbing, deadly event that took place in their youth. Years later, they find themselves tracked by an entity bent on revenge, totally helpless as the culture and traditions they left behind catch up to them in a vengeful way.

You either love it or you don’t
Revisado: 08-30-23
I knew going into this book that the reviews were very polar but I figured I’d give it a try. It was kinda hard to follow with it being written from different points of view so it might be better to read it rather than listen. It never sucked me in so I just finished it out of obligation. The story is interesting and the narration is very good but again, hard to follow due to different people’s storylines. I’m glad I listened to it but would not listen again and would say if you aren’t sucked in by an hour, there’s no need to finish it.

Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.
