Historia
Ten years after the aliens left Earth, humanity has succeeded in building a ship, Friendship, in which to follow them home to Kindred. Aboard are a crew of scientists, diplomats, and a squad of Rangers to protect them. But when the Friendship arrives, they find nothing they expected: no interplanetary culture, no industrial base, and no cure for the spore disease. A timeslip in the apparently instantaneous travel between worlds has occurred, and far more than 10 years have passed.

Historia
After the Final War, after the appearance of the Bug aliens and their enforced peace, Shining Smith is still alive, still doing business from the old scrapyard bequeathed to her by her father. But Shining is now something more than human. And the scrapyard is no longer just a scrapyard, but a place full of secrets. This life she has built, while empty, is predictable and safe. Until the only friend left from her previous life shows up, dead, in the back of a scrapped Tesla warplane. Clutched in her cold fingers is a note to Shining - warning her of a coming attack.

Better the second time
Revisado: 03-07-21
The first time I listened to this, I was in ICU following open heart surgery. At the time, I remember it being entertaining, and, to the purpose, distracting. I got it because I had listened to other Faith Hunter novels. As usual, Junkyard Cats has a strong female lead and cats.
This time, I was able to appreciate the world building and tech descriptions. I'm ready for the next book... I just downloaded it.

Orson Scott Card is a master storyteller, who has earned millions of fans and reams of praise for his previous science-fiction and fantasy works. Now he steps a little closer to the present day with this chilling look at a near-future scenario: a new American Civil War. The American Empire has grown too fast, the fault lines at home are stressed to the breaking point, and the war of words between Right and Left has collapsed into a shooting war.

Better than the first of this series
Revisado: 10-25-19
Perhaps it was just the decreased need for explanation, but the flow and timing were better than in Axe Druid I. The characters are growing more flexible and likable, but are still prone to overlook older earned skills, traits, and spells in favor of newer weapons.

Listened to better mysteries set in Seattle but for a cop drama was ok
Revisado: 12-23-18
The author didn’t take advantage of the beautiful setting. Do people who live in Seattle really sound like that? Character intonation could have been better. I had trouble distinguishing between individuals.

Should be book 2 of Anniversary Saga
Revisado: 05-20-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Should be the second book of the Anniversary Day Saga. All the action takes place before Blowback.
Would you recommend A Murder of Clones to your friends? Why or why not?
I like these new characters but wish there was more tie in with Retrieval Artist.
Have you listened to any of Jay Snyder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Same excellent performance.
Did A Murder of Clones inspire you to do anything?
Looking forward to the next in the series.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

Scalzi psy-fi fun
Revisado: 08-31-12
What did you like about this audiobook?
Fun read. Scalzi puts the psy in science-fiction. Engaging chartacters in insane scenarios. Have you ever felt like your in a bad play? Scalzi takes a new perspective on the space ship centered sci-fi series.
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
Scalzi reminds us that stretching your imagination can have great results.
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
Will Wheaton's performance adds an ironic twist.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
Wheaton failed however to give the 'narrative' a properly dramatic flare.
Do you have any additional comments?
I look forward to more pure entertainment from John Scalzi.
Everyone needs to laugh sometime at the quirks in life. If you like nursery tale mysteries (Jasper Forde) and Old Man's War, you'll love this. NOT for the really SERIOUS sci-
-fi fan.
