I really wanted to like these stories. There's not a whole lot of "creepiness". These are definitely more for "noir" fans. it doesn't do that very well either though

this was one of the worse listens I've ever gone for. the first book is so so good. this one is hard to listen to.

if you didn't tell me King wrote this, I wouldn't know. He does, in one book, what takes other authors four or five. the first third is a bit slow, but it's so beautiful that you don't notice. King does a phenomenal job building a world, that somehow allows your mind to fill in the small blanks. it most definitely feels like a fairy tale, in the best of ways. I felt like a kid discovering mother goose for the first time, and I absolutely love it. A boy and his dog.......... has never been so good.

If you're looking for a light listen, this is the book for you. The plot is just good enough to keep you interested. The dialogue is cute. It's not an award winner, but it was a fun listen.
