Historia
A woman vanishes in the fog up on "the Hill", an area locally known for its tranquility and peace. The police are not alarmed; people usually disappear for their own reasons. But when a young girl, an old man, and even a dog disappear, no one can deny that something untoward is happening in this quiet town. Young policewoman Freya Graffham is assigned to the case; she's new to the job, compassionate, inquisitive, and dedicated to the task of unraveling the mystery behind this gruesome sequence of events.

Don't waste your time and money
Revisado: 05-24-11
The story line meanders all over the place and it appears that at least a few tracks are missing, near the beginning. The ending is the worst I've ever experienced and it appears that the writer just couldn't figure out how, or when, to end the story. Several threads are left hanging, completely unexplained. The author's inexperience shines brightly!

Long and drifting
Revisado: 10-28-09
The story line quickly begins to wander back and forth at a dizzying pace. As it reaches mid-point it appears to move slowly with much of nothing being said. It seems like some of the meaningless passages are simply used to add time and length to the book. This is definitely NOT one of Brown's better efforts.

So bad it's good?
Revisado: 01-27-08
I must say that this was the second worst book I've ever purchased from Audible. I've started listening to it twice and have finally made it past the first half. The author has broken just about every rule for writing a meaningful and interesting story. Most authors learn quickly that writing in the 'first person' is seldom successful. If the book has any direction, or plot, it is not noticable. As an author myself, I always try to seek what the writer is trying to say, and where the storyline is headed. That should become apparent early on in the story. In this case it has not.

Historia
Quantum physics is an astounding (and mind-boggling) field of science, but can you actually use it to change your life? Absolutely yes, says Dr. Quantum. On A User's Guide to Your Universe, Dr. Quantum, who goes by day as mild-mannered physicist Dr. Fred Alan Wolf, teaches that anyone can understand quantum physics. What's more, it is the most useful, immediate, and relevant kind of science you can learn to profoundly affect your day-to-day life.

No Science Here
Revisado: 09-03-06
I agree with Thomas. What we got here was an educated idiot, who rambles on and on for hours, saying the same thing over and again. The book definately never breaks the boundries between nonsense and second grade science.

A Well Presented History
Revisado: 06-09-04
I found this book to be very informative although I have worked in electronics design and repair for over 40 years. I believe anyone with basic electronic knowledge will enjoy reading this. Those with no knowledge may find the going a bit slow, but should learn a lot about a subject that now touches every life every day. This was a VERY good read.

In the tradition of Daniel Boorstin, the co-founder of Omni delivers an original work of history that demonstrates why modern science rests on a foundation built by ancient and medieval non-European societies. "If you think that modern science is rooted in the golden age of Greece, you owe it to yourself to [hear this] book," says Library Journal.

Nothing new here !
Revisado: 06-04-04
I suppose it should be said that I'v read everything available on ancient histories. Having said that, the narrator seems to just recite lots of facts here, without much enthusiasm. If you know almost nothing about the ancients, you may enjoy this more. I found no substantial errors in the reading---it just jumps around from place to place a lot, giving you a little knowledge about many things.

People need stories to make sense of the world - to hold their lives together, and to fasten on to those values that last. The greatest stories are found in the Bible, enduring through the centuries. In Genesis, acclaimed television journalist Bill Moyers brings together some of the world's liveliest minds for spirited round-table discussions of the ageless stories from the Bible's first, towering book.

How Many people should be talking at one time?
Revisado: 05-16-04
I wonder if the several people who made this (book ?) ever listened to the text. At times there are 3 or 4 people talking all at one time.
The old expression "beat a dead dog to death" certainly applies here, as every topic is overdone until it becomes boring. Worse still, these people seem to seldom ever totally agree on any topic, with some of the views bordering on being rediculous. Save your money on this one!! Audible has better! The lowest rating allowed is one star, which in this case is much too high.

An Easy Listen
Revisado: 03-20-04
I found the narration to be excellent and quite easy to follow, even though I was not well informed in physics. I was able to understand and learn a lot. I will certainly read this book more than once. Even if it's an easy read , it covers a mountain of material, and deserves more than one reading.
