Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Must-Read, Mind-Bending Story!
Revisado: 08-07-21
The genre description for this one is a Psychological Thriller. While I think there are strong components of a Psychological Thriller in this story, I also appreciated how it explored the depth of characters' stories and emotions with their internal monologues. A slow burner, but this one burns bright as hell!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Pensive, philosophical triumph
Revisado: 07-10-21
This story weaves philosophical introspection with a quirky, fascinating interpretation of what would happen if you could live all of your best lives. The audio book narrator performed beautifully. I would highly recommend this story to anyone trying to kindle some inspiration in their lives.

Historia
When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Done in Classic Ruth Ware Fashion
Revisado: 06-26-21
Really enjoyed the immersive story-telling through a prison letter (minor spoiler alert). Ruth Ware manages to yet again keep you guessing as to how all the pieces tie together, until the very last chapter brings them home in a crashing crescendo.

Historia
Getting snowed in at a luxurious, rustic ski chalet high in the French Alps doesn’t sound like the worst problem in the world. Especially when there’s a breathtaking vista, a full-service chef and housekeeper, a cozy fire to keep you warm, and others to keep you company. Unless that company happens to be eight coworkers…each with something to gain, something to lose, and something to hide.

What a story!
Revisado: 06-12-21
The story is really a great homage to Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None", with its own modern flare and clever twists and turns. Ruth Ware does the thriller genre justice, and Imogen Church deftly put on a one woman show, giving each character's voice good depth and subtle touches that really brought out their personalities.

Historia
Vincent is a bartender at the Hotel Caiette, a five-star lodging on the northernmost tip of Vancouver Island. On the night she meets Jonathan Alkaitis, a hooded figure scrawls a message on the lobby's glass wall: Why don’t you swallow broken glass. High above Manhattan, a greater crime is committed: Alkaitis's billion-dollar business is really nothing more than a game of smoke and mirrors.

Five Star Story

Great story! Has a clever way of tying together people, their life stories, the guilt they carry with them and how a haunting may at times even be a benevolent thing.

Historia
Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent children. They are charming, and resourceful, and have pleasant facial features. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally unlucky. In the first two books alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, a lumpy bed, a deadly serpent, a large brass reading lamp, a long knife, and a terrible odor.
