I loved the story, but my main problem throughout the entire book after chapter 9 is that it’s revealed that Declan is from Minnesota, but he has a Deep South, Louisiana accent. My mom is from Minnesota and, I promise you, that is in no way what a native Minnesotan sounds like. Kinda messed up listening to the story, but I get it, a Minnesota accent isn’t exactly sexy lol.

Liked it but kinda tough

I got a copy of this book from the narrator. I like the story, but I think I’m going to have to actually read the story because I have no doubt I missed a bunch of it. The narrator is new, so I’m sure he’s still learning his reading style. It felt stiff and kinda choppy, so I ended up speeding it up so it wasn’t as slow.

I love the way these stories are narrated. I love that when the character is speaking, you hear it in that character’s voice, regardless of the POV of that chapter. The story was great too!

I don’t know what it is about this guy that sparks something in me - a need, a drive to be more. Whatever I have to do to make him notice me. How pathetic is that? I loved the story, it was a great continuation of the story of Julian and Arend. My issue is that Julian’s accent went from lilting French/German to Italian/Russian from book one to book two.

Jackson and Fletcher met the first time with a bang. The next time, Jackson needs Fletcher’s help to clear his name. This is a really good story. They’ve both been hurt numerous times and have trouble trusting. There’s conflict, mystery, drama, and lowish level angst as we learn the details of what happened to ruin Jacks’ life as we know it.
It kept my interest and I got bummed when real life interrupted and I had to turn it off. It IS a cliffhanger, so now I REALLY need book two. I have to know what happens!!
