Historia
There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. The Case of the Canterfell Codicil is a classic, cozy, locked-room mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.

Fine Performance

This audiobook was given to me by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
This fine YA tale was very well narrated by Kristin James who gave individual characters distinct voices and accents that made them easy to recognize. The tale itself was very much a coming-of-age/space opera story, with promises of more in books to come. The story maintained a good pace throughout and drew to a reasonable conclusion while still allowing for continuation of the larger story arc.

This is a fine extension of the Jane Austen/Elizabeth Bennett genre. The characters are true to the Austen tradition and the tale paced very much as Austen's were. The story was fine, but the action was fairly slow for audio, which can sometimes drag a bit anyway. This is the sequel to a book I have not read so I might have missed some references; however the tale was complete in and of itself with narrative giving enough of the previous action that I was not wondering how we got to this point.
Jannie Meisberger's voice went well with the narration and was well-pitched for Elizabeth, who provides the primary point of view for the tale. For my personal taste, the narration was also a bit slow-paced, but that is not out of keeping with the Austen theme of life in a more leisurely time.
Overall I enjoyed the story. I am unlikely to listen to it again but would recommend it for the many Austen fans out there!

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com."
This story by Rich Amooi was a fun "read", well-narrated by Ryan Kennard Burke. As you might guess from the title, the story line followed some of the main themes of the classic An Affair to Remember, but only in the most general way.
Expect some laughs, some smiles, and a fun few hours when you listen. The characters were consistent, if not particularly deep - but that really goes with the light and breezy style of the book itself. This is a good choice for listening to while stretched out on your lounger in the shade, listening to the surf!.

An absolute delight of a debut novel by William Kuhn - author of Reading Jackie: Her Autobiography in Books - Mrs Queen Takes the Train wittily imagines the kerfuffle that transpires when a bored Queen Elizabeth strolls out of the palace in search of a little fun, leaving behind a desperate team of courtiers who must find the missing Windsor before a national scandal erupts.

For Lovers of Downton Abbey
Revisado: 02-19-16
This was a slow stroll through the lives Upstairs and Downstairs at England's Windsor Palace. The early chapters slipped in a somewhat disorganized way through the current and past lives of the Queen of England and various members of her staff: her lady-in-waiting Anne, her equerry, Luke, one of the butlers, William, her dresser, Shirley, a girl from her stables and a young man of Indian descent working at a cheese shop.
I nearly stopped listening several times not so much because the pace was slow, but because the pieces seemed disorganized, jumping from one person to another rather randomly. The author, however, redeemed the tale with a fine conclusion that drew all together.
The reading by Simon Prebble was wonderful - each individual voice distinct and fitting the character very well indeed!

Why?
Revisado: 02-08-16
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.
The eternal need to know "Why?" leads the recently-murdered heroine to bargain a return from the middle-ground between death and eternity to observe the outcome of her death and to untangle the mystery of why it happened.
The characters encountered are a bit formulastic, but were fun for all of that. The narrator handled the voices decently. There were cliche moments in the plot, but they were handled with humor.
On the negative side, the reading was just a bit slow and deliberate for my tastes and the plot was pretty straightforward, except for the imagining of the afterlife.
A light read; fun and pleasant.

Fun YA read with a Vivid Imagination
Revisado: 01-30-16
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.
This collection of short tales showcased the author's vivid imagination - three very different girls living in very different futuristic worlds. Each girl is faced with the dilemma of a world that suddenly contains something quite different than she expected - what to do?
Charity Tahmaseb was a new author to me. I thought the writing quite decent and, as mentioned above, the world-crafting, brief tho it was, interesting. The target audience was clearly YA or slightly younger teens, which is not my preferred genre (and definitely NOT my current age /grin), but I did enjoy the book.
The reader (Ashley Klanac) used the perfect light, slightly high-pitched tone for a teen-aged girl, with emotional overtones that fit the scenes very well. I thought her narration enhanced the stories significantly.
