Worth it!
Revisado: 10-15-21
This is one of my favorite stories in the series. I love the people, the location and the historical information (which HG is known for). If you’ve never read/listened to her Bone Island Trilogy this won’t matter but…
In this book David and Liam Beckett are brothers but in the Bone Island Trilogy they’re cousins. Major pet leave of mine. PLEASE remember details of your books if you’re going to include those details in other books! Other than that I have no gripes. Luke Daniels is one of my favorite narrators and he did a great job once again.

Historia
Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette. But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman - dead or alive.

Needs new narration!!!
Revisado: 09-15-21
I enjoy this series so much that I have read it multiple times. I decided to listen to this book while cleaning the house and had quite a few cringe moments due to the narrator. She would be great as a GPS voice but needs to steer clear (pun intended) from reading novels. I really wish they would find one good narrator and stick with them 😒 or at the very least…listen to it during editing! Seriously don’t they realize that better narration means more money? The only reason I gave the performance 2 stars is due to having heard worse. I can’t in good conscious recommend this audible but definitely read this series.

Revisado: 09-15-21
I’ve read all of the negative reviews and just don’t get it. This is a great read and a good listen. Narrator could have been better but I’ve heard WAY worse. It’s all about what you think they should sound like and if what you hear equates. Sands is an amazing author and I love the humor she adds to her stories. If you’re looking for nothing but heaving bodies aka smut…look in the erotica section…This series is AMAZING and a 360 read. Those who complain about the heroine of the story, not everyone is the same and I appreciate that this series has an eclectic mix of personalities. It has it all. Ignore the negatives. You won’t be sorry.

Good Story - Horrible Narration
Revisado: 02-06-21
This is a good book to read but this narrator is horrible and will go on my list of money wasters. She ends all of her sentences in an upward pitch and the men sound like teen boys with a cold.
I would’ve said great book if not for the lack of emotional elements. It’s worth reading but listening to Dawe read it is anxiety inducing.

Worth listening to
Revisado: 05-16-20
I’ve read a lot of bad reviews but I can’t agree. Laurens can’t make all of her heroines have the same personality. If she did so, there would be a lot of bad reviews saying that her books are boring and the same story as all the rest...no win.
Even though this ‘bride’ isn’t to my taste doesn’t mean this isn’t a good book. I’m assuming the ‘Elusive’ part has more to do with him being elusive than her but also the fact that his understanding of her is elusive as well. I hope that made sense. lol (sorry for repeating the word so much)
I really enjoyed all four of these books and am thankful that she made each heroine different instead of, like some authors, all the same.
Simon Prebble is amazing as always though I was confused about Hamilton’s accent. Quite a few times I had a moment of WTH? Maybe a missed a reason for his more Scottish? accent.
So I definitely recommend this book to any and all. Read the first in this series and this second one will make much more sense.
Overall I rated this a 4/5 due to it not being the absolutely most enjoyable of her series books but honestly there are some books in the Cynster series that I just couldn’t read again unless I was paid to.

Another great NR book
Revisado: 04-06-18
First, I have seen quite a few negatives about this book and it shocks me. This trilogy is one of my favorites by NR. Although it’s not the absolute best she’s ever written it is still one of my go-to reads/listens. Personally I like this one better than Three Fates.
The characters are each unique and Saskia Maarleveld’s narration brings each of them to life. She can switch from different tones and accents on a dime which keeps the story flowing. She is my all time favorite narrator. This book has everything! It’s humorous, suspenseful, romantic and much more. Highly recommended.

I can’t say enough about this book. It is a true page turner in every sense. It’s not often that I find a book I enjoy listening to but the narration was performed by two very brilliant people. They brought the characters to life and made the book even better than when I had read it myself. Very Highly Recommend!!!

Aweful Narrator!!!!
Revisado: 04-26-15
What did you love best about The Next Always?
The personalities of each character.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Next Always?
The 3 men making coffins for the little boy's action figures lol
How did the narrator detract from the book?
One word...monotonous! By chapter 3 I was ready to scream, shut off the audio and read it myself. The whole point of the purchase was to keep my hands free but couldn't take it anymore. This narrator needs to find a different line of work.
Any additional comments?

Laughable Narration
Revisado: 04-25-15
I've read this story several times and though it's not on my top ten list of her books, I enjoy the simplicity of the plot. I decided to download the audible version because of the price and to keep my hands free. I'm starting to wonder if they audition narrators because this guy barely even did the men's voices justice and the way he did the women was a joke. I will say that due to his lack of talent with the female voices it turned the book into less of a romance and put it into the comedy genre. If you want a laugh download it, otherwise don't waste your money.

Revisado: 04-22-15
Julie Garwood never fails. I've read most of her books, including all but a few in this series and have yet to be disappointed. I wasn't sure that listening would be as enjoyable as reading for myself but was pleasantly surprised. The narrator did a fantastic job. She was able to not only make the characters distinguishable but added the accents as well.
