Historia
Once upon a time, a no-frills J.Crew rollneck sweater held an almost mystical power—or at least it felt that way. The story of J.Crew is the story of the original “lifestyle brand,” whose evolution charts a sea change in the way we dress, the way we shop, and who we aspire to be over the past four decades—all told through iconic clothes and the most riveting characters imaginable.

Boring
Revisado: 02-12-24
Could not even finish. This book was so dry. It was not engaging or interesting at all. Highly disappointed.

Historia
Kate is a pop culture commentator and host of the popular millennial-focused podcast Be There in Five. Part-funny, part-serious, Kate navigates the complicated nature of celebrating and criticizing the culture that shaped her as a woman, while arguing that great depths can come from surface-level interests. With her trademark style and vulnerability, One in a Millennial is sharp, hilarious, and heartwarming all at once. She tackles AOL Instant Messenger, purity culture, American Girl Dolls, going out tops, Spice Girl feminism, her feelings about millennial motherhood, and more.

A written yearbook of my life…
Revisado: 01-28-24
This book was very rapidly recommended by one of my best friends (hey, Kristen!) I immediately downloaded and started reading…and what a ride! It really felt like a written yearbook of my life. It was amazing to reminisce while also making connections to some of my relatable insights today as a 40-something “elder” millennial and the struggles we have in our current world. My friend and I had a “pseudo” book club between the two of us, calling at 745 each morning for a week to discuss insights and quotes we found relatable and hilarious. Thank you, Kate, for writing this memoir and walk down memory lane. I can’t wait to read it again (and force all my friends down this path too!)

Britney is free!
Revisado: 10-25-23
What a wonderful way to tell her story! Hearing Michelle Williams read Britney’s words was so beautiful and a perfect selection. Sending love to Britney with her continued healing from her many years of trauma.

A bit overhyped
Revisado: 07-16-23
This book was not as great as I expected. It also seemed to drag on and on at the end. I struggled to finish it and almost felt ready to be done with it. Chapter 39 was a huge disappointment. I was even confused if I was reading the right book after everyone talking about how it blew their minds. Somewhat of a disappointment. This was my first John Marrs book so I will try another to see if it is any better.
