Historia
It is a tale of ghosts, of madness, of revenge - of old alliances giving way to new intrigues. Denmark is changing, shaking off its medieval past. War with Norway is on the horizon. And Hamlet - son of the old king, nephew of the new - becomes increasingly entangled in a web of deception - and murder. Beautifully performed by actor Richard Armitage ("Thorin Oakenshield" in the Hobbit films), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark takes Shakespeare’s original into unexpected realms, reinventing a story we thought we knew.

Rave Reviews for Good Reason
Revisado: 03-24-15
If you could sum up Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel in three words, what would they be?
Imaginative, Entertaining, Adaptation
What does Richard Armitage bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
One of the best narrations on Audible. He did an excellent job of bringing all the characters to life. Too often, male narrators make female voices annoying. This narrator is top notch.
Any additional comments?
This is an adaptation of Hamlet, but I never read the original in high school. This book actually made me go back and research/read different parts of the original Hamlet.
The authors took liberties with the original story and really did a great job of enhancing the story. The addition of the Yorick character was brilliant and entertaining. In the end, when you learn the truth about Yorick, it is a complete surprise.

SEO Simplified Too Much and Boring Narration
Revisado: 02-11-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, there are probably better Intro to SEO books out there.
Would you be willing to try another one of Ken Eaken’s performances?
No. It was written like a college research paper and narrated by someone that sounded like they were reading the information for the first time.

Historia
Before cell phones that fit in the palm of your hand and slim laptops that fit snugly into briefcases, computers were like strange, alien vending machines. They had cryptic switches, punch cards, and pages of encoded output. But in 1975, a young engineering wizard named Steve Wozniak had an idea: What if you combined computer circuitry with a regular typewriter keyboard and a video screen?

Story Was Good, but Came Off as Self Centered
Revisado: 01-30-15
What made the experience of listening to iWoz the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed most of the stories, but I didn't like how most of his stories were "look how smart I am" or "look how much good I can do". I liked how he did go into some technical depth on things he worked on, but in explaining his pranks, it made him seem like a jerk with little care about hurting others or the long term effects of his pranks.
Overall, it seems like he wrote this book to make sure everyone knew HE was the one that invented the Apple.
What did you like best about this story?
All the stories about him and Jobs were pretty good.
What does Patrick Lawlor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I really wish Woz had narrated it. Lawlor wasn't bad, but I usually prefer the author's voice when it is a famous person.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I felt some anger at some of the pranks he considered 'harmless' , but could have really done damage to other people and their careers.

Utter Load of New Age Crap. Couldn't Even Finish
Revisado: 01-30-15
What would have made Wishes Fulfilled better?
No redeeming qualities what so ever. I am very firm in trying to finish books that I purchase, but even I had to stop torturing myself after 90 minutes.
Has Wishes Fulfilled turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes
Would you be willing to try another one of Wayne W. Dyer’s performances?

Very Good Information, but the 2nd Half was Dry
Revisado: 12-12-14
If you could sum up The Truth about Retirement Plans and IRAs in three words, what would they be?
Dollar Cost Averaging
Any additional comments?
This was a good book and had some great information. But, the 2nd half has too many instances where he either says, "it depends" or goes into great detail about specific situations that I will never face or won't need to think about for a while.
I'm more of a simple investor and breaking things down into simple terms would help me. I realize there are situations where you need to hire an adviser, but in a book, he should stick to the basics.

Excellent Book for Developers - Consultant or Not
Revisado: 12-04-14
What did you love best about The Nomadic Developer?
I really like the real world stories from the author and the other developers he interviewed. It's good to hear that others have gone through the same trials and made mistakes along the way.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Nomadic Developer?
When they related stories of projects gone wrong or things they look back on that they could have done better.

Interesting Look into Early Google from Non-Tech
Revisado: 11-09-14
What did you love best about I'm Feeling Lucky?
Doug did a great job of narrating and explaining the high tech world of Google in an easy to understand way. There were just so many interesting stories, he kept me coming back for more.
What about Douglas Edwards’s performance did you like?
He is an excellent speaker and brought some much needed humor to the subject matter.
Any additional comments?
It was hard for me to believe I would make it through the entire 16 hours, but it was so interesting, I couldn't stop. And, the ending was superb, alost emotional.
I'd really like someone else to do another book like this detailing the time after Google's IPO.

Masters of Doom is the amazing true story of the Lennon and McCartney of video games: John Carmack and John Romero. Together, they ruled big business. They transformed popular culture. And they provoked a national controversy. More than anything, they lived a unique and rollicking American Dream, escaping the broken homes of their youth to produce the most notoriously successful game franchises in history - Doom and Quake - until the games they made tore them apart. This is a story of friendship and betrayal, commerce and artistry.

Would you listen to Masters of Doom again? Why?
It was filled with interesting back stories and Wil's performance was excellent.
What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?
Wil's performance was just masterful. He made the story come alive and almost made it like I was watching a documentary on TV. His performance was what made this really memorable. I was even recalling parts of the book throughout the day.... Mmmmm!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Historia
Them began as a book about different kinds of extremists, but after Jon had got to know some of them - Islamic fundamentalists, neo-Nazis, Ku Klux Klansmen - he found that they had one oddly similar belief: that a tiny, shadowy elite rule the world from a secret room. In Them, Jon sets out, with the help of the extremists, to locate that room. The journey is as creepy as it is comic, and along the way Jon is chased by men in dark glasses, unmasked as a Jew in the middle of a Jihad training camp, and more.

OK, But Not What I Was Expecting
Revisado: 10-13-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really. It was like seeing a journalist go into the camp of each extremist and come out agreeing with their views. Near the end, the story turned ridiculous and boring. I only finished because I am too anal to get that far into a bool and stop.
What was most disappointing about Jon Ronson’s story?
There were a few interesting stories, but mostly the narrators voice was annoying and most of the stories were boring.
What didn’t you like about Jon Ronson’s performance?
His voice is too high pitched and when he mimicked others' laughs, it got irritating.

Some Good Tips, but Dated Information
Revisado: 09-16-14
What did you like best about Crucial Conversations? What did you like least?
There were a few good tips about how to approach difficult situations and conversations. The Q&A section at the end was pretty good.
This information was probably really good 20 years ago, but this book assumes the people you are dealing with will be good, logical, and rational people. This may have been more true a long time ago, but most people that you will run into conflict with these days are entitled, self serving, win-at-all costs type of people. This book does not apply to them.
This book is for dealing with the people that are willing to step back and apply logic and reason to your conversation.
