Leared a lot. The extra detail on conversations circa 1964 was not always plausible, but it's easy to ignore

Historia
Thirty years before the O.J. Simpson case, America was fascinated by another "trial of the century." Jacques Mossler, a prominent financier known as "King of the Installment Loans", was brutally murdered in his Key Biscayne apartment. Suspicion quickly fell upon Melvin Lane Powers, the shady nephew of Mossler's wife Candace. When investigators discovered that "Candy and Mel" were carrying on an incestuous love affair, the pair were charged with the crime. The Miami trial featured the legendary defense attorney, Percy Foreman, whose outrageous tactics created a number of memorable moments. A...

The computer voice was fine ... better than a lot of narrators. Candy was outrageous, and she got away with it the help of a famous lawyer. There is a lot of extra detail, which I skipped past to get to the story

Historia
In 1975, fresh out of law school and working a numbing job at the Treasury Department, John Rizzo took "a total shot in the dark" and sent his résumé to the CIA. In Company Man, Rizzo charts the CIA's evolution from shadowy entity to an organization exposed to new laws, rules, and a seemingly never-ending string of public controversies. Rizzo offers a direct window into the CIA in the years after the 9/11 attacks, when he served as the agency's top lawyer, with oversight of actions that remain the subject of intense debate today.

The topics seem to be the manner and dress of the building staffers and officers. reminds one of Sgt. Schulz: I saw eveyting but knows nothing

Historia
Joan Robinson Hill was a world-class equestrian, a glamorous member of Houston high society, and the wife of Dr. John Hill, a handsome and successful plastic surgeon. Her father, Ash Robinson, was a charismatic oil tycoon obsessed with making his daughter's every dream come true. Rich, attractive, and reckless, Joan was one of the most celebrated women in a town infatuated with money, power, and fame. Then one morning in 1969, she fell mysteriously ill. The sordid events that followed comprise "what may be the most compelling and complex case in crime annals" (Ann Rule, best-selling author of The Stranger Beside Me).

Quite a Texas sized tale. Very much Houston in the early 1970s.

The narration takes some getting used to, but works fine at 1.10 speed. The writing is quite good.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Alright, but dreadfully slow
Revisado: 03-07-19
Beautiful descriptions of coastal NC. Story is a bit implausible. Seems over rated to me, but I can understand why some listeners would really enjoy this book. The geography of North Carolina is a bit off. No one drives from the Outer Banks to Ashville to run errands. That is hundreds of miles. Rocky Mount would be more plausible.
Enjoy, if you like this genre.
