Historia
As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, LA-based psychiatrist Mark McDonald grew increasingly concerned by the negative mental health effects he witnessed among his patients - and Americans nationwide. These negative effects - stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, suicidal ideation - were all directly traceable to the climate of fear being stoked by public health authorities and irresponsibly amplified by national media.

TRUTH
Revisado: 03-02-25
I worked in two ERs in California throughout the entire pandemic. I agree with everything in this book. God Bless this man for speaking truth in the face of delusional fear imposed by Big Brother. The government and the media lied and people GAVE UP their freedoms and common sense in the face of fear.

Historia
Darby Dunwell is not a Bond Girl, though she's been blessed with the body of one. An east coast, ivy-league, trust fund kid, she flees a life of expectation, elocution, and executive board rooms to follow her one true love: Coffee. The deeply eccentric seaside tourist hamlet of Townsend Harbor throws its doors wide open for her sex-positive, bikini-themed coffee shop named Brewbies.

Terrible
Revisado: 01-25-25
The first book was so cute but this one is absolutely horrible. I’d give it a zero star if I could but the one star goes to the narrators. They were wonderful. Horrible writing/plot/character “development”. Couldn’t even finish it. Waste of a credit.

Historia
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Swoon

This audiobook was so sweet and dad-joke kind of funny. The narrators were wonderful and the message was lovely. Quirky adventure of self-discovery and love.

Historia
Lauren Richmond isn’t a fan of Christmas. Which is why she rarely makes the trip home to the Midwest for the holidays. After all, she has plenty to keep her busy—namely, her duties as a set decorator on a TV sitcom. But this December, Lauren‘s brother and his wife are expecting a baby, so her brother arranges a ride home for her with his good friend, Will. Unfortunately for Lauren, she’s been trying to forget college baseball coach and childhood crush Will Sinclair for more than 10 years. Now she’s stuck in a car with him from California to Illinois.

So adorable
Revisado: 12-22-23
Such a sweet Christmas story. I loved all the references to Pride and Prejudice. This is literally a modern day retelling of that story with a Christmas twist. Perfect for the season!

Historia
Once a devoted children's librarian, Jane Jameson now works at a rundown occult bookstore. Once a regular gal, she's now a vampire. And instead of a bride, she's an eternal bridesmaid -- which leads her to question where exactly her relationship with her irresistibly sexy sire, Gabriel, is headed. Mercurial, enigmatic, apparently commitment-phobic vampires are nothing if not hard to read.

Cute but slow and predictable
Revisado: 11-22-23
The end was predictable and this book was definitely much slower than the first. Still cute by it painful in some segments. Jane’s interactions with her family are infuriating

Historia
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 09-08-23
**Spoilers**
I had a really hard time getting in to this book. Kristen really grated on me. I felt like half the book was her internal rants about not being able to get pregnant and not wanting to hurt Joshua because of it. The first few times was understandable, but every time after that was just an annoyance. She came off as whiny so it was hard to have compassion for her…then even more so when she was awful to Joshua. Joshua’s devotion didn’t feel like it had a strong foundation either because all of that was assumed/glossed over by the writer, so this was also hard to emotionally relate to.
Then the ending. Like…no happiness or closure for poor Sloan? Her story ends in misery while Kristen gets everything she wants after being terrible to Joshua. I honestly liked Sloan and Brandon’s dynamic more than Kristen and Joshua’s so the ending from Sloan’s perspective was just awful.
Not my cup of tea. From the reviews it seems like plenty of readers loved this book but it just didn’t do it for me. The character development was weak and just not satisfying by the end. The narrators, Erin and Teddy, were great though. Wonderful performance by them.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

This one was rough
Revisado: 06-06-23
Took me a full year to finish this book it was SO slow. The last 3 hours are wonderful but the rest was absolute torture: descriptions of animals and the marsh, with little to no character development or plot development. The end was 100% predictable but was still somewhat enjoyable to listen to. This one is a hard pass for anyone looking for depth, intrigue or excitement.

This book was terrible. Emily is the most selfish, idiotic “heroine” I’ve read. I literally finished this only because I never let a book go unfinished… but it was horrible. Don’t waste your time
