Tedious
Revisado: 03-01-25
This book was extremely tedious for the first 3/4 of it. It helped to speed up the narration rate, but I was very tempted to quit listening altogether. I will say the last 1/4 of the book was rather interesting but overall I cannot recommend taking the time to listen to this book.

Why all the f—- words???
Revisado: 02-17-25
The book’s concept and story were good. However, the constant use of the F—- word got very old, very quickly. The continual use of the F—- word is a lazy and unoriginal way of writing. Please find better ways to relay thoughts and/or feelings!

Very repetitive!
Revisado: 12-23-23
The story was okay but the narrative was extremely repetitive!! The book would have been half the length if not for the author repeating the same things over and over and over.

Both disappointing and with nuggets
Revisado: 02-08-23
There are many other books in this genre that are so much better. Although there are useful nuggets in this book, there were also multiple places that oozed with the author’s arrogance and her judgment towards others.

Historia
David Sheff's story is a first: a teenager's addiction from the parent's point of view, a real-time chronicle of the shocking descent into substance abuse and the gradual emergence into hope.
Before meth, Sheff's son, Nic, was a varsity athlete, honor student, and award-winning journalist. After meth, he was a trembling wraith who stole money from his eight-year-old brother and lived on the streets. With haunting candor, Sheff traces the first warning signs, the attempts at rehabilitation, and, at last, the way past addiction. He shows us that, whatever an addict's fate, the rest of the family must care for one another, too, lest they become addicted to addiction.

Great story. Annoying narration.
Revisado: 03-21-21
For much of the book, especially the first few hours, the narrator sounds like he’s reading to an audience of children. Lilting inflection and tone like one reading a children’s book.

Historia
In his decades as a globally recognized teacher, Richard Rohr has helped millions realize what is at stake in matters of faith and spirituality. Yet Rohr has never written on the most perennially talked about topic in Christianity: Jesus. Most know who Jesus was, but who was Christ? Drawing on scripture, history, and spiritual practice, Rohr articulates a transformative view of Jesus Christ as a portrait of God’s constant, unfolding work in the world.

Amazingly truthful!
Revisado: 07-20-19
This book puts into words what we all know if we listen to our inner wisdom. I felt like it was saying what I’ve always known on an unconscious level but never knew how to put into words or describe for others. Too often religion muddies the waters of spirituality for us. This book does not put any religion on a pedestal but rather speaks to your spirit.
