After reading an early release of The Dating Plan, I decided to read Sara's first novel The Marriage Game. First, I must say you need to read both of these romantic comedies if you haven't already. They have all the funny banter and sexy feels you could want in a romantic comedy.

The Marriage Game meets Netflix series Indian Matchmaking. I must admit, I most definitely binge watched Indian Matchmaking when it was released last year in July. Little did I know Sara wrote a book about an aspiring entrepreneur whose father starts matching her for an Indian husband after moving back home to San Francisco.

I absolutely loved the show by the way, and The Marriage Game had me laughing the whole way through. Hooked from the very beginning, I couldn't stop listening to the novel. A must read romantic comedy for this year.

🚨 Warning...

Tissues are needed when reading this novel and watching the Netflix series. This novel is a beautiful story about love, loss and friendship. One I truly enjoyed despite the heartbreak.

Spanning more than three decades in the ever-changing Pacific Northwest, Firefly Lane is the poignant, powerful story of two women and the friendship that becomes the bulkhead of their lives. A story of a generation of women who were both blessed and cursed by choices.

I decided to watch the Netflix series first since I tend to tear movies / tv series apart when different from the book. 🤷‍♀️ I am glad I did because it's absolutely heartbreaking and had me on the edge of my seat.

I will caution you about the last episode and the book though; if you have ties to the military, the last episode may make you sick. I was so upset by the last episode it actually made me sick. Literally. I was in tears for a long while as it hit way too close to home. I will not give the scene away but just be prepared. (I was not.)

Charming Story

Prior to publication I saw marketing promotions for this book and put it on my #tbr list after reading the narrative. The Lost Manuscript is a charming eloquent novel about the love of books and magical ability they have to bring people together. Including the power to change your life.
