Historia
The Souls of Black Folk by W. E. B. Du Bois is a landmark in sociology and a cornerstone of African American literature. The book comprises various essays on race, some of which had previously appeared in The Atlantic Monthly. As an uncompromising advocate of civil rights, Du Bois stated that through work, culture, and liberty, the dual heritage of African Americans could be melded into a force for positive social and cultural change.

Historia
In this classic work, Professor George G. M. James methodically shows how the Greeks first borrowed and then stole the knowledge from the Priests of the African (Egyptian) Mystery System. He shows how the most popular philosophers including Thales, Anaximander, Plato and Socrates were all treated as men bringing a foreign teaching to Greece. A teaching so foreign that they were persecuted for what they taught.

I enjoyed this author’s perspective on the historical context. I think it’s important to allow listeners/readers to do their own research. I think the author did a great job explaining this as well.

Historia
The Red Book, published to wide acclaim in 2009, contains the nucleus of C. G. Jung's later works. It was here that he developed his principal theories of the archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation that would transform psychotherapy from treatment of the sick into a means for the higher development of the personality.

I do recommend this audiobook for anyone that has an interest in Carl Jung. Some of his ideas are difficult to grasp. Some seem outdated given the advances in modern psychology. The reader may struggle with the hermetically theme and theory that is interwoven throughout his ideas. Hopefully this makes sense. If the reader is unfamiliar with the hermetic philosophy; I recommend reading up on this topic before starting this audiobook.

Historia
Alfred Adler was an Austrian physician, psychotherapist, and one of the founding fathers of modern psychology. In Understanding Human Nature, (1928), Adler sets out to acquaint the general public with the basics of Individual Psychology, which holds that the driving force of human behavior is the individual’s striving for power, partly to compensate for feelings of inferiority. The purpose of the book is to identify mistaken behaviors and show how they undermine healthy relationships, in order to gently guide the individual towards adjustment.

Historia
America’s backstory is a whitewashed mythology implanted in our collective memory. It should come as no surprise that the dominant narrative of American history is blighted with errors and oversights—after all, history books were written by white men with their perspectives at the forefront. It could even be said that the devaluation and erasure of the Black experience is as American as apple pie. In Black AF History, Michael Harriot presents a more accurate version of American history.

This was my first time listening to an Audiobook on African American history in the 21st Century. It is very inspiring to hear the stories of our ancestors. It was inspiring to hear historical facts about America history that many of us never heard about. The stories were very engaging and thought provoking. The themes of American culture and history were very clear in this context
